FAIR's Inching Closer to Non-existance
For no apparent reason, I was banned from FAIR this morning. I also noticed that Moksha was banned this morning as well.
KG also pointed out that the search function at FAIR has been disabled if you're not logged in.
I'm guessing that FAIR doesn't want anyone on this board searching the archives for any more dirt. Also, I'm guessing they don't want anyone sympathetic to Shades or KG's boards to have access to FAIR or the search function there.
What does all this mean? I'm speculating that this board, and more specifically, Mr. Scratch's blog are getting to FAIR bigtime. And as a result, FAIR is in it's final downward spiral.
Congrats guys! Although I do agree that the names in Scratch's blog should be removed (Pahoran's and Juliann's).

It has been done, Who Knows. I cannot stress this enough: my intention is to inform and entertain. If anyone's feelings are being hurt in a major way, please, please let me know, and we'll work on a solution.
Further, it saddens me that FAIR apparently feels so threatened. I for one have derived a great deal of fun from FAIR over the last several months or so, and really think that is a valuable place to learn things about the Church. But if they are having to go to these lengths in order to try and stave off scrutiny, then I guess it does really show how untenable their argumentative position really is---i.e., that they cannot defend themselves.

I agree - the idea of FAIR is great. In fact, the place used to be great. But that asshole Dan_G, as well as the other idiots in charge of FAIR, have gone too far. Somewhere along the way, they developed a major inferiority complex, and have now stepped off the deep end.
It's too bad really, but they've got no one to blame but themselves.

I just went to take a look at FAIR and got this message.
Why.
I did have two good threads going about the virgin birth and possible mistranslations, and some discussions my wife and I have had. Nothing to warrant such banning.
Simply amazing.
Try to be polite and non confrontational, and the TBM's screw you.
I find this odd for many reasons. I don't post on FAIR matters, read FAIR much, or even know the names of the people there. Yet they seemed to have banned me.The error returned was:
You do not have permission to view this board

It looks like this. If I'm logged in, I cannot view the forum. If I'm logged off, I can view, but not post.
I also looked at an old post of mine and I have been banned according to the group I am in..
They must troll here looking for people to ban.
I looked at the rules, and there is not one thing I did there that would qualify me for banning.

Odd.
Back before the original MDB tanked, there was a thread in which Kevin Graham discussed ways around the FAIR banning. I.e., you can use a proxy. The reason you were banned is that you also post here, plain and simple. It is the ironically named FAIRboard's version of TBM shunning. Of course it's entirely unfair that you were banned for this reason, hence my constant label of FAIR as "ironic."

The only reason I was banned was because I post here. That is a frightful mindset to see in action.
Yes, it is a real shame. Eventually, it seems that FAIR will have to prohibit access to the general public, too, which will effectively end FAIR's reign as the LDS apologetic hotspot of the Internet.

Heh. Yeah, well, they hate me so much that they altered my group to read "Purgatory." As far as I know, I am the only one to whom they've applied this label.
I'm still a member of FAIR although I requested to be deleted. Anyway, I've checked in from time to time to search the archives. The system is slow but I manage to pull stuff up.
I would like to see FAIR have some free speech zones. If people want to argue and exhange insults, then by golly, let them go at it. If the threads become a sewer than only the sewer rats will hang out in them. There has got to be a better way for FAIR to manage a board on the world wide Internet.
