I'm going to be frank here and Shades, if you feel I'm overstepping let me know.

I think that this whole "I wish so-and-so would leave" and "Why don't you leave, you aren't welcome here" nonsense needs to stop.

I'm not an admin, I don't run the board, and I am not recommending censorship of any kind but this forum was geared to be a bastion of free speech and any are welcome here.

I admit to feeling some dissappointment in seeing numerous posters trying to oust others from here. It saddens me.

Take it for what you will, but I'm requesting that we stop this behavior. It is unbecoming of adults and my enjoyable pastimes do not include playing in a sandbox with children.

Being conscripted into an unjust and illegal war.

Losing my friends.

Losing my self-respect.

Being unable to affect change in myself and the world around me.

Not being able to read.

Yeah. . . I think that pretty much sums up my fears.

This wasn't designed to be a message board for an exclusive "click" of people. It was designed to give everyone interested in the subject of Mormonism a place to discuss things. Argue, inflame and insult all you want . . . but don't be trying to drive people away.

It does you no credit and it does your comments no credit either. Just because people refuse to debate with you because of your manners, doesn't mean you won the argument.

Someone suggested today that Pahoran leave. Pahoran responded, saying that until I or Keene change the rules, he's welcome here. Pahoran was right, so I didn't bother to make my own response.

The same person later expressed the wish that Gazelam leave. Gazelam hadn't yet responded, so I jumped in and reminded everyone that he's just as welcome here as anyone else.

SO, my point is that I've already made an attempt today to address this, so I totally share your concern.

In that case, my fear is that the rancor and negative energies will turn off many people from posting and Shade's vision (which I highly respect and support) will fail.

I sure hope that doesn't happen. I'm hoping that all newcomers will read the rules at the top of each page and notice the one which says "Everyone is 100% welcome here, both believers and disbelievers alike" and ignore any misplaced suggestions to leave.

Beyond that, let me echo Keene's stamp of approval. The way to deal with those with whom we disagree is to refute their arguments with logic and reason, not make them leave. Making them go away is how FAIR works, not MormonDiscussions.

Pah and his ilk will leave sooner or later, when they have no more wannabee mo'pologists sucking up to them patting them on the back and licking their wounds. This ain't the Fboards. Thanks to the good Doc and his team, the playing field at Shady Acres is LEVEL. **** does not roll down hill here, it sits right where it was deposited for all to see and smell as it dries in the sun.
