We can thank the non-Christians for "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" on store windows, for no Christmas carols in school concerts, for no Christmas school concerts (they are now Winter Concerts), for no Christmas scenes on public grounds. We've become so politically correct, we bend over backwards to avoid even the appearance of religion.
Pining for the old days of White Might makes right?

You're confusing race with religion, PP. Luckily for us all, I don't.
Then please for the love of Hinckley and the 12 stooges, quit yer snivelin about Happy Holidays instead of Merry Xmas, k?
This is a big country full of all different backgrounds, some of which don't care for anything but Happy Holidays.

Then don't say merry christmas. But how about the secularists let others who want to do so do so.

Who is launching a campaign to stop other people from saying "Merry Christmas"?
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Personally, I'm kind of greatful that the whole "christmas" thing is being forced out the window. Especially here in the US.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the Christians who want to support paganism by idolizing a pagan tradition.

No, my problem stems from the fact that it is this elitest crap about Christmas at all.

Did you know that between the beginning of November and the end of January there are 27. . . yes, count them, twent-seven religious and cultural celebrations?

Why is it that showing a little compassion, acceptance and, I hesitate to use the word, tolerance for other religions and cultures is such a bad thing?

Twenty-seven freaking celebrations!

And people get all in a huff because their holiday is no longer in the forefront of everything.

Meh.

Its called Manifest Destiny. American Christian society is plainly manifest as the cultural dominant force in the world. This only started to fade out as a force in the 90's when half baked minority theories and ideas were given an unwarrented and undeserving voice, Louder than it was justified.

Hey Wade? Heres an example of bigotry. THIS is true hatred of others unlike yourself.

Your attitude towards others truly, in all seriousness scares me gazelam.

cranks

Post by _grayskull »

I'd just like to point out that being overly sensitive isn't synonymous with being a crank. "Crankyness" usually implies having and especially promoting highly unorthodox ideas that would, if they were true, completely revolutionize one science or another as we know it. I don't think a coup to subvert Christmas is cranky. It might be kind of lame.

It might be fun to check out: http://www.crank.net/ and see how much bad science has been dedicated to atheism in contrast to religion.

that's funny, i could have sworn you said the link led to a science webpage instead of a lauding of pseudoscience.

This Land

2 Nephi 1:5-7
5 But, said he, notwithstanding our afflictions, we have obtained a land of promise, a land which is choice above all other lands; a land which the Lord God hath ccovenanted with me should be a land for the inheritance of my seed. Yea, the Lord hath covenanted this land unto me, and to my children forever, and also all those who should be led out of other countries by the hand of the Lord.
6 Wherefore, I, Lehi, prophesy according to the workings of the Spirit which is in me, that there shall none come into this land save they shall be brought by the hand of the Lord.
7 Wherefore, this land is consecrated unto him whom he shall bring. And if it so be that they shall serve him according to the commandments which he hath given, it shall be a land of liberty unto them; wherefore, they shall never be brought down into captivity; if so, it shall be because of iniquity; for if iniquity shall abound cursed shall be the land for their sakes, but unto the righteous it shall be blessed forever.
