Marrying a Mormon -- Blogcapades!

Post by _keene »

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to point you all to my new blog, "Marrying a Mormon." Sorry ladies, but that means I'm spoken for.

Anyway, check it out. I plan to be chronicling all the different responses from the Mormon families involved. Stay tuned, as next sunday, my fiance's bishop wants to talk to me!

And if anyone wants to discuss what's going on in that blog, bring it here so everyone can join in.

Will your fiancée be registering here and participating in your blog and/or this message board?
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

She did say she wants to come and chat a bit, and yell at all the Mormon's who aren't acting very Mormon. ^_^ I love that girl.

I loved the first installment.

My fiancée and I are getting married tomorrow. We are both exmos from 4 generation Mormon familes. We literally dressed up as black sheep for Thanksgiving (okay...I took some license with the "literally".)

We are just having a judge marry us and the we intend on having a ceremony in the Spring, where we're half considering telling people that only non-temple recommend holders are invited...okay...less than half considering.
"Suppose we've chosen the wrong god. Every time we go to church we're just making him madder and madder" --Homer Simpson's version of Pascal's Wager
Religion began when the first scoundrel met the first fool.
Religion is ignorance reduced to a system.

I'm actually having my roommate marry us as the priest. We're getting married under the church of the giant damned invisible intangible spider in my backyard. I can't wait to see my parents face when he comes out in a spider-man costume.

So Keene, if your fiancee is a TBM, how does she cope with your swearing?

She, uh... Doesn't care. I just asked.

I don't swear all that much -- when I do, it has a purpose.

Her stepdad, though, that's a different story. I said "pissed" and he went "I'm sorry, what was that? Did you say offended?"

That was when he was being nice, for company. He's a TBM in the style of "If you're not Mormon, I will yell at you and threaten you until you are."

I've had some fun fights with him. They'll be in the blog soon.

I'll be following your blog with interest. A TBM marrying an anti-Mormon (by your own admission). Well there goes all the stereotypes.

He's not the first. My wife is TBM and married me despite my being "anti-mormon".
