I think that FAIR saw the writing on the wall. How many stories have they been told of people going to the FAIR board with honest question and they end up being treated like crud? The foaming at the mouth members(worse then true believers) likely embarrassed the more moderate FAIR members.
The FAIR board was doing more damage then good in their eyes.

Ironically this undermines the entire point of the message boards - which was to allow discussion of FARMS articles - and also make them more palatable for the layperson ie Mormon tithepayers.
What it ended up being was a place where exmos and antis could use thinly veiled assaults on topics that are considered taboo and controversial to the Mormon church.
The end result, (in my opinion) was not the intended one (which was to assuage poor farmer Johns fears about DNA and other issues), and I think it actually forced alot of Mormons to do something that they had never done in their entire lifes...take a good hard look at their own faith.

Not all LDS farmers are Johns. Not all LDS farmers are poor. Not all LDS farmers have fears about DNA. On behalf of us LDS farmers, what are you trying to say?

The last part was clearly satirical in nature. Thanks for the strawman - I take it you are a transplant from FAIR - as this type of attack (along with appeal to authority arguments) is the main stay of any apologetic.
Wow you people are dedicated.

Actually, no. I was teasing you. I've been banned from more LDS boards than almost anyone else. I guess they think they had too much harmony in their lives, so they got rid of the easiest one to target.
Welcome to the board. ;-)

Exactly what does divesting itself of a message board have in common with being hunted to extinction by Portugese sailors?
The foundation is not the message board, and the message board is not the foundation. Did you really not know this?

Pahoran
Yeah! Where are all the good FAIR-exterminating, Portuguese sailors when you really need them?
