My read of her is that she has to engage in some really pretzel-shaped, cog-dis sorts of mental hopscotch in order to make sense of her place in the world. For example, she objects to polygamy, but has found some sort of bizarre way to dismiss the CHI-sanctioned post-mortem polygamy practiced by, among others, Elder Oaks. Also, she was treated badly by her ecclesiastical leaders after she divorced what she herself described as "an abusive man," essentially trading in what appears to have been one form of male abuse for another. Needless to say, her coping mechanisms probably figured out some kind of contorted way of keeping men up on a pedestal while simultaneously hating the non-priesthood-holding feminine part of herself. (She would have to in order to continue loving the Church and yet justify the poor way she was treated.) Additionally, there is the issue of her education. She obviously puts a great deal of stock in academic, scholarly authority, and so her failure to complete her graduate degree must come as an especially sharp prick to her self-esteem. Because why hasn't she finished? Because of her commitment to the male-run Church?

I think the bottomline is that one cannot be both female and an apologist without having to hate a small part of yourself, or at least to efface a small part of your gendered identity.

Okay... That was more that enough Dr. Freud for one day, I think. : (

I wonder how many ex-Mormons have been banned from ex-Mormon forums, when compared to the number of Mormons banned from Mormon forums. She is pretty much admitting that people like me were "abandoned by the host group as [I] would no longer serve its purposes."

Meaning, FAIR had no use for me because I was no longer attacking the critics.

What is the purpose of all this talking to, about, and past eachother from board to board? The MAD folks are obviously reading this board and Z. They can read it but can't be seen posting on it?

Juliann refuses to post on any board but MAD. She claims it is lack of time, but that makes no sense, given the fact that she is clearly reading and responding to me anyway. I firmly believe that the reality of the matter is that she refuses to post anywhere that does not have a moderating team that will offer her extra protection as needed.

Once again I mirrored this thread on the most neutral board I could think of - ZLMB. (well, not as neutral as they used to be, as we know from recent experiences, but it was the closest I could get).

Well, from an outsider's perspective, beastie, this is quite the public spectacle! She could respond to you on ZLMB if she cared to. Instead she comments on the FAIRly MAD board where you are unable to engage. No surprises there.
