I can't find anything either in Sleeping Willow that qualified him to being just banned there. And yet we have the LDS Apologist Pahoran making these amazing and outrageous claims on the MA&D Board. Here are these amazing claims he has been making there:
Pahoran:
Here is another: the claim that Shades' board has greater "freedom of speech" than this one does.
It doesn't. As Shades, Keen, Beastie and all the rest who make that claim know perfectly well.
Pahoran:
As for "glasnost," I fail to see that this forum lacks openness in any meaningful way. It is certainly no less open than Shades' board.
Does the LDS Apologist Pahoran over there actually believes that junk he wrote there???
That is a good question. When one is defending something, does one actually have to believe what one offers in defense?
Although this may not explain Pahoran's repeated (failed) attempts at mind-reading, I think what sometimes happens is that the end is perceived to justify the means. For example, in regards to Book of Mormon apologetics, sometimes possible connections to ancient Mesoamerica are exaggerated while known contradictions ignored or minimized. I think that it is likely that the apologist feels good about this because he/she genuinely believes the current body of knowledge about ancient Mesoamerica will be proven wrong one day, anyway.
Or, of course, it could just be a display of incredibly strong confirmation bias, protecting something very important to the psyche.
I have given up on figuring out Pahoran. Who the heck knows if he believes the stuff he regularly regurgitates. If he does, either he is disturbed, or has bought into some very simplistic thinking (like clear good guys and bad guys). He should rename himself "Ammon", wielding the sword to chop off people's arms right or left. In his mind, he is a noble warrior. To an outside witness, he likely looks like a bloody nut. (pun intended)
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.
I actually ponder Pahoran's reasons for saying that. To this day, the grand total posts I've edited rests at exactly 1, and that was Shade's post. Honestly, I don't care enough either way to make the effort to edit people's posts.
Heh, freedom through laziness.
And still to this day, banned users sits at 0.
I did, however, lock 2 threads a while back, simply because the users were releasing personal information of other anonymous users. On second thought, I should have simply moved them to the Outer Darkness. I would prefer people be free to talk about that kind of stuff, but as my lawyers advise me, if I have knowledge of that going on and don't act, then I am legally responsible. Hence my new policy of not moving any threads until they are actively brought to my attention, and the new "rules". ^^
Since then, we've had no issues.
Now, I've never been to MAD or Fair or RFM or any of these other message boards, so I don't know their policy, but from what I hear it's pretty intense. Our track record is two locked threads...
How on earth, can Pahoran post such things with a presumably straight face? Is this his idea of accurate press? Please. It's quite a scam operation they've got going on there. Making negative claims about this site with the intention of putting off people from even reading this board and then layering another series of assertions on top of that. Apparently he operates under the assumption that once Pahoran has spoken, the thinking has been done.
Thank goodness for noble warriors like Pahoran who are willing to brave the vulgar and obscene content of this site and report back!

What utter nonsense.

Hi Jersey Girl,
How 'Pahoran' can make such amazing claims over there is beyond me. Anyway, Here are some of the People that got banned from the "FAIR"/MA&D Board during the Year of 2006:
Kevin Graham Southern Redneck Who Knows Moksha Brackite Pokatator Dr. Shades Liz3564 Lady Sundancer
If the "FAIR"/MA&D Board is pretty very open and has such great freedom of speech over there, than why were all of those People banned there during the Year of 2006 over there???

Jersey Girl: Now let's compare that with the number of posters banned from this board during 2006.
Did anyone bother to ask Pahoran what he meant by "greater 'freedom of speech'"?
Or, is that something that your own biases may have prevented you from considering in your haste to unwittingly commit the fundamental attribution error? ;-)

Since Pahoran hasn't posted over here for a while, and lables this board a "sty", it seems pointless to PM him and ask him.
Actually, though, I wouldn't mind finding out what his interpretation of "freedom of speech" is.
Since you have access to the MAD boards, why don't you PM him over there and ask him?

Hi Wade,
Well, since I, and a lot of the People who now Post here since have been banned from Posting on the MA&D Board, we can't go ask him over there? However, if Pahoran wants to come over here and explains what he meant there, then he would be more than welcome and have the freedom to come and Post about this on this Message Board.
