And my father dwelt in a tent?

It's not found in the Book of Mormon, but is found in the Bible and the Pearl of Great Price. It's something Satan says and I believe it is also true. It's something that appears in a video game I really enjoy called Xenogears. One might even connect this scripture to one of the more controversial teachings of the church.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy.

Yes!

It's only fitting that you would answer this. You're proof that it's true--at least on this board.

Hi There Mister Scratch,

You wrote:

I agree, too. My take on the mod IDs is as follows:

Chaos: Dan_G
Orpheus: Scott Lloyd
Argos: Jan
Skylla: ???? Maybe Nighthawke?

Also, I suspect that there may be some "hopping" of mod identities taking place---I once saw Orpheus completely de-evolve and begin writing in a dismal, 5th-grade level writing style, which leads me to think that Dan_G flip-flops his ID.

I definitely agree with you that the Moderator Chaos over there is really Dan_G. Dan_G. is the head Moderator over there. I also definitely agree with you that Orpheus is really Scott Lloyd over there. And I think you may be right about Argos really being Jan over there. I have virtually no idea though who Skylla really is over there.

Hmmm. Interesting guesses! Most intriguing. Regardless of our accuracy, I do know that we can safely say that our guessing about their identities drives them utterly batty. In fact, I can practically hear them gnashing their teeth as I write this. (Allen "Mr. Itchy" Wyatt in particular.)

Actually, it's Dan's form of entertainmnet. I think that's half the reason they decided to come up with Mod aliases.

He gets a chuckle when he reads over here and we guess wrong.

It's a rather pathetic form of entertainment, but whatever floats your boat. ;)

The irony? On the old FAIRboard, there was a thread only open to Mods where talk of the goings-on at Shades was like a feeding frenzy. LOL

They complain openly on MAD about Shade's board being a "sty", and about us always talking about their board, but the supposed "leaders" doing the most complaining do the same thing. (OK....they DID do the same thing when I was in that circle. Who knows...maybe they have reformed. However, I rather doubt it. LOL)

Doubtful. Now they talk about you, too!

And I have a real hard time believing Allen Wyatt was Mr Itchy. I never did anything to him; why would he target me?

He would target you simply as a means of lashing out. My guess re: Wyatt being Itchy is based on his past behavior over the whole savegrantpalmer debacle. Of course, some have floated a theory that Itchy was Pahoran, which is a pretty good guess too, in my opinion. The bottomline, I think, is that one of the mods was definitely involved somehow.

I just wanted to welcome you to this board. I was Lady Sundancer (LSD) on FAIR.

Hi again. Thanks for the welcome Jersey Girl. I recognize the LSD name but don't know much about events around switching from FAIR to MA&D other than reading here that some people got banned.

I was feeling quite a bit more comfortable since Ray's explanation about the "personalized threads" that were confusing me so much. I couldn't see any pattern to what was getting locked and who was being told off. I think they assume you know things you don't. I come from the opposite end and don't conclude that someone has evil motives until proven. If they do feel "under attack" that explains their approach, I guess. It doesn't make for a relaxed atmosphere though.

This made me laugh at first because I had no intention of trying to cause problems and being so "meek" (until challenged to a certain point) I don't usually evoke anyone's wrath. But it turns out that finally understanding how things work around there after Ray's explanation (the non-personalized thread thing was doing my head in) it still didn't feel all that comfortable to me. I guess that's not surprising as I'm exmo and they appear not to like that very much. But my worst sin, by far, it seems is posting on RfM. I guess it doesn't matter what I post. The sin is in merely posting there. I have never called anyone a nasty name in my life. But I guess I'm guilty by association. There are some sharp claws there and they have been pointed in my direction for no other reason that I can discern. Very unpleasant. I am uncertain now who it is they want to participate in that forum. The strange thing is I elicited the same type of reaction from women in the church when I was trying to be a Mormon. It's more than defensiveness but I'm not sure what causes it. Too bad, I'm interested in discussing Mormon topics but don't really need to walk into brick walls too often.

Anyway, thanks for the explanations everybody. I will check out some more of your rooms here. It's nice to just be able to chat without worrying too much about being constantly misunderstood. I'm really not that complex and definitely not out to get anybody. :)

According to the mods on MAD, anyone who posts here is out to get all posters on MAD. It's a merry-go-round that everyone gets put on the instant they register. There is no benefit of the doubt, innocent until proven guilty there. Everyone is suspect until they've fried enough critics to be accepted.
