QUOTE(Orpheus @ Feb 2 2007, 02:13 PM)

No, I am Orpheus. I didn't know it mattered who got the last post now I know you are watching heres a test. Who got the last post on the last 15 closed threads? Meanwhile I'll give the word to the mods to give our LDS posters the last say. This is a board for them or didn't you know that?

Heres another reminder too, our posters are trashed on some other boards. They can talk about it here but the trashmen can't cause you have your own boards. Trashers might want to think about staying where they can trash our posters without being bothered. We aren't fair anymore. Really we aren't FAIR.

This is from the South Park thread. I think I will include the bolded part in my signature. This is just too rich! LOL

That must be Damn_G - because I didn't understand most of what he wrote. Is he still in high school?

I mean, jeez, did anything he wrote make sense to anyone? That's embarrassing.

A little punctuation goes a long ways towards being taken seriously:

"I didn't know it mattered who got the last post. Now that I know you are watching, here's a test."

(I hope I don't get banned for this.)

Perhaps I can fill in the blanks a bit.

The original "I am Orpheus" is in response to my sarcastic questioning of Scott Lloyd about being Orpheus (Lloyd mentioned Scratch's mentioning him as Orpheus, which he thought was hilarious).

Next, the "I know you're watching the last post" thing relates to my thinking (on this board) that their was some coordination of Dr. Peterson and the Mods on Juliann's thread "Quotes From the Other Side" (which has a long companion thread here on Mormon Discussions) since the closing post by a mod and Peterson were one minute apart. Dr. Peterson said it was a coincidence, I believed him and apologized for the misunderstanding and I thought that was that. Apparently it wasn't.

The rest of it is your guess. I think we're the trashmen. I replied to the trashman part:

"We prefer "practictioner of the custodial arts" or "waste relocation engineers". An open invitation to the trash board stands for anyone."

Did anyone follow that,

Bond

Wow, where did you learn to speak Damn_G? I think that's probably what he was trying to say. Nice job.

I'm still a little fuzzy on the whole trashmen thing, and what they cause you to do. Can you translate Dude?

Yes, we know that. It is very obvious.

What is sad is that LDS posters who supposedly want to interact with critics fled to this type of biased protection. It's like admitting that you need a big, fat, handicap. It's like asking to hold back all the other racers until you are way ahead so you can look like you're winning. It is pathetic.

ZLMB was set up to provide unbiased moderation, without handicapping. Apparently, LDS believers knew they couldn't hack it. They fled to MAD where mods are more than happy to handicap the "race".

I would be embarrassed to admit it, but they seem quite proud of it.

beastie,

I couldn't possibly agree more with what you've stated. My experiences on and observations of these boards have been a real study in human behavior. ZLMB used to be so much fun, I loved participating on that board. That is, until the admin started rigging the board with cappings and that sort of thing. Still, I continued to post and liked it. Did you know that on ZLMB they maintained profiles of some of us? Someone told me that my profile said I was "trying to build a bridge between TBM's and non-Mormons". Anyway, the fairly recent trollism there and the contradictory statements made by Cal just fried me on Z.

My own participation on FAIR was rather limited in comparison to that of ZLMB. I recall numerous times when I would challenge another EV and TBM's would post in support of that. At other times when moderators would admonish me (I always talked back to the mods when I felt they were off base) they'd say nothing at all. I remember one poster in particular saying how much they hated the way a moderator addressed me, yet they did not protest the statement. There is little honesty on FAIR/MAD and no willingness or interest in setting the record straight when they screw up.

There is something really wrong with the mentality of some of the TBM posters. Not all, but some. As you say, they should be embarrassed by what goes on and for some reason they think it clever.

I ask you, if the game is rigged does that mean you're a "winner"?

Further up this thread there is a statement by Jason Bourne (?) that says people here are obsessed with DCP or FAIR/MAD. For me, that is not entirely so. I find the irony of what they say they are compared to what they actually do, to be simply astounding to watch.

I cannot tell you how much it pains and embarrasses me to have to admit that there are people who have so completely missed the point of the gospel of Jesus Christ, as to represent themselves as believing LDS and not comprehend how completely opposite of the principles of the gospel that the MAD board represents. It is most disheartening that proponents of the LDS church would behave so badly.

Show kindness to every person, love thine enemy, turn the other cheek, love thy neighbor, do everything with an eye single to the glory of God. All absent. Instead, we're treated to a steady diet of arrogance, pride, one-up-man-ship, whining, backbiting, dishonor, and an appalling lack of integrity. There is no excuse, unfortunately. Much is expected, but little is actually given.

Our TBM's (Jason, Kevin Graham, Gazelam, Plutarch, MG, BCSpace, etc) as a whole do a much better, if not perfect, job of representing at least some of the characteristics of a believing Latter-day Saint. Occasionally, I catch a glimpse of the best example of a believing Latter-day Saint I've ever seen on the boards, kevinchill, in an occasional post here. No wonder Daniel doesn't post here; he'd have to hang his head in shame, at his appalling lack of effective leadership.
