Well you're liked among the non-faithful (or at least this one anyway). At least you got the guts to post here, which can't be said about alot of people on these boards.

I prefer not to be well liked among the faithful. I consider being well liked among the faithful to be an insult. That means I'm being just as hypocritical as they are. Now, it's up to you to find out what I mean by "faithful". You can be faithful and not be a butthole.

Don't play the devil's advocate, it's no fun.

He appears to find what he considers the absurd interesting to watch, but not worth investing more time in. Even at MA&D he won't engage all critics or topics. My guess is that he finds this worth too little except as entertainment for signature line purposes.

I think he doesn't engage because he's afraid to. I don't think it's about being "above" anything at all. We're not throwing fists here, if the man was as intellectually adept as he claims to be, he'd engage, and use proper punctuation while doing it as well.

All DCP is doing is hiding behind the curtain that is MAD, all the while turning gears and flipping switches to make sure that he isn't exposed for the bigoted fraud he is. And of course, coming here to read how persecuted he is only convinces him of his divine mission, much like Joseph Smith was convinced of his divine mission later in his life as his actions led to the persecution of his followers.

That's unfortunate. I love playing devil's advocate and will do so at MA&D as well. I believe that playing devil's advocate can help me better understand the situation from other points of view--so long as I am careful not to use it for constructing strawmen.

Oh fine, if you're gonna be noble about it. I can't argue with that.

I appreciate you playing Devil's Advocate, ABman, but this simply isn't true. Stuff discussed here and elsewhere has led to a good deal more that mere signature line amusement. DCP's new piece in the latest issue of FROB appears to be a direct response to criticism from myself, Kevin Graham, and others regarding the peer review process at that journal. He has also sent rather lengthy emails to myself, Rollo Tomasi, and other people on these boards, thus demonstrating that he takes what goes on here somewhat more seriously than you seem to believe. He has also published articles discussing the things he has observed on messageboards such as this, or RfM. Your buying into his off-hand jokes and blithe dismissals just doesn't hold up, I'm afraid.

If there's anything I'm convinced about with Dr. Peterson and Pahoran it is that they are witty, creative, intelligent, and educated. I am also convinced that both are skilled in debating. Both are almost certainly more intelligent than I am (not that that's saying much).

Anywho, you're certainly welcome to your opinion. I just don't think the evidence is conclusive.

For the most part, when I was on FAIR Pahoran was pretty civil to me. I have no idea what caused DCP to take an interest in me, as we've never spoken.

To me there's more than one type of intelligence. And it seems that an individual who needs to disparage folks for not being a member of their religion is lacking (severely, I might add) in emotional intelligence...which is just as vital for successful traversing in this world as literary intelligence is

Yeah, we're all entitled to our opinions. Many people think I'm a psychotic fool. Well, mostly relatives. I choose to indulge them because the faces of disgust they make are amusing to me, and I've grown tired of caring about people's perceptions of my overly complicated character. :D

Prof. P is a coward and a few other things I could name, but I will not stoop to his level, but I would clmb the wall and face him face to face because I am not a COWARD, neither is GIMR.

You should be advised, Misery, that Prof. P. is using your quote in his signature line.

That is so cool, by the way. You know you have gotten under someones skin when they quote your quotes.

COOL REALLY REALLY COOL....To bad he did not use all of my QUOTE only the part that suited his purposes...We should all be so lucky.....LUCKY DUCKY FU()).....SMILE..
