I guess Dan_G didn't like what I had to say last night. They've apparently banned my IP address.

I'd like to know if official Board War has been declared and on the primarily LDS boards, what are the rules of engagement for Board Wars?

There's a 8 page companion thread on MAD that's still going on I think. The Mods okayed it at least.
An excellent observation. Back in the days of the ironically named FAIRboard, the powers-that-be sought to avoid board wars, since it reflected poorly on FAIR/FARMS as an organization. They tried to portray themselves as being "above all of that." However, after it became impossible for them to maintain the facade that they weren't "affiliated" with the LDS Church in at least a semi-official capacity, they had to divest themselves of the MB. The new MB doesn't care. It essentially belongs to Dan_G and juliann, and thus caters to their whims and biases. And since one of juliann's pet projects is frothing at the mouth and attacking virtually everything in sight, you can bet that the fittingly named MADmods will absolutely tolerate board wars.
Scratch,
Somewhere I read a stateent that said the board is a "service of FAIR", if that is true how has the board been "divested"?

They're having a discussion about this thread over there. They're having a cow.

They banned my IP, I guess they don't think there's easy ways to get around that. What a bunch of children.

Pretty dead over there. Everyone must be watching Survivor, Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, CSI, and ER.

They closed the thread.
What interested me is how the believers who deliberately killed ZLMB wouldn't respond to my demonstration that it was essentially the same act of "boycotting" that they found so silly when critics suggested it. Of course, Juliann did her normal act, but other than that, it was ignored. Sput even told me to quit talking about it.
So the basic idea isn't ridiculous, but here's why it won't work in reverse. Although they will never admit it, the True Believers (I'm trying to differentiate them from other believers who weren't this way) need a board with biased moderation because they are handicapped by the natural weaknesses of their position. Critics normally have science and logic on their side (not always, but normally), and over time, a number of believers become critics for that reason, so the True Believers feel outnumbered and harassed, even with careful, even-handed moderating. So they need a biased playing field to be willing to play at all.
If I recall correctly, EA said this was the same state on boards for young-earth creationists. They prefer biased boards and favorable moderation. Who can blame them? They can't survive otherwise.
Critics don't need that extra boost. So critics will continue to tolerate the atmosphere and unjustified moderator actions and still will feel successful, overall. It's not because we're smarter or more educated - it's because of the cards we're playing.
In the end, I decided to stay on MAD mainly to address the fallacies so often repeated on Book of Mormon threads. I think they need someone to correct them, otherwise people genuinely looking for legitimate information about Mesaomerica and how it fits the Book of Mormon will be led astray by people like John Clark and Brant Gardner - very nice men with good intent, but they still mislead others about the issue. If people are willing to go out of their way to obtain information on the subject, they deserve more careful and accurate information than the apologists are going to give them.

We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Oh, and Dan_G - if you're reading this, you missed banning one of my other IP's. You might want to look into that.
(I'm in a good mood today, and just thought I'd help you out a little)
