Hmmm let me see, you conclude I have never been to Utah and the fact is I spent half my life there, have family there, have kids at and who have attended BYU and get there quite often.

So how many time and how much time have you spent in Utah?

And who looks dumb now?

I do shop ;-) (IKEA I'm a comin'!)

Plenty of shopping. Check out the I think they call it the Gateway Center if you are there in nice weather. It is west of temple square about 4 block and you can take the light rail to it. It is a very nice new outdoor type mall.

I do eat food
I do love nature so would love to see the caverns and such

Timpanogos Caves up American Fork canyon is great. The hike up is welled paved and about 1.5-2 miles. They give tours of the cave. The canyon is lovely. If you go there after words drive the Alpine loop a the top of the canyon. It takes you behind Mt. Timpanogas and over to Prove Canyon. It is awesome! It is about 35 mile south of downtown SLC. Go up little Cottonwood Canyon to Snowbird and ride the tram. Eat at the Steak Pit if you like a good steak. Park Cite has tons of good places to eat ant shop. Snowbird is about 20 miles from downtown SLC and Park City about 25.

Can I tour the SLC Temple? (parts of it at least?)

You can see all the outside and the grounds but not inside, tour the tabernacle and conference center, and the visitor centers on temple square as well as tour the Church Office Building just east of Temple Square. There is also the Joseph Smith Memorial Building-used to be the Hotel Utah, the LDS History Museum and the Family History Library all within a block or two of each other. Also, you can tour the Loin House, Brigham Young's home.

As far as eating - this is going to sound cheesy - but I LOVE the Training Table. Get the Hickory burger (extra hickory sauce) and cheese fries with ultimate dipping sauce.

What types of food do you like? Do you have a big budget?

I like just about anything. Any restaurants that are considered SLC traditions? Money isn't a big deal.

La Caille at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon in Sandy, has good French food although it is pricey by Utah standards. Likewise Log Haven is also good. We have a number of good Indian and Thai restaurants in Salt Lake Valley.

YES Both of those are great!!! But LaCaille is high. Used to be calle Quail Run when I lived there. And Log Haven's Sunday Brunch is to die for. Log Haven is up Millcreek canyon.

Rodizio Brazilian restaurant. SLC. Very cool. Go hungry. Visit the little park that in the neighborhood if you want to see Joseph on the head of the Sphinx.

Dead Goat Saloon. SLC. Hilarious place.

Mandarin Restaurant, Bountiful. Very good Chinese.

Best ice cream: USU Creamery in Logan.

The Spaghetti Factory at Trolley Square is great as well.

harmony: Sweet Tomatoes in Sandy (I think) is by far the best for soups and salads (I go there every time I'm in SLC, even if I have to bum a ride).

Jersey Girl: harmony! Sweet Tomatoes? Oh my GOSH, I want that for my new screen name! Jersey is famous for it's tomatoes, ya know! I want to go there...are you sure it's in Sandy? Got a link or something?

harmony: Rodizio Brazilian restaurant. SLC. Very cool. Go hungry. Visit the little park that in the neighborhood if you want to see Joseph on the head of the Sphinx.

Jersey Girl: The Sphinx scares me, harmony.

harmony: Dead Goat Saloon. SLC. Hilarious place.

Jersey Girl: This is why I like you, harmony. You are slightly frayed (or is it fringed?) around the edges! I so admire that! Now how do I find this in SLC? Is SLC a HUGE city?

harmony: Mandarin Restaurant, Bountiful. Very good Chinese.

Jersey Girl: I'll give that a "maybe".

harmony: Best ice cream: USU Creamery in Logan.

Jersey Girl: I'll put that on the list pending a mapquest search!

I've been to church at the local Ward and Stake (been there done that)

I could easily fake my way through 1956 and am already on Mountain Time

Also, there are a TON of scrapbooking and rubber stamp companies in Provo...does anyone know if they have outlets?

You really can't see why you would make the perfect Mormon. I can see it in the above posts as clear as day.

I can see it...can anyone else see it???
Perfect Mormon in Jersey Girl....PERFECT Mormon in Jersey Girl

Edited for lasts thoughts

I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't watch x-rated videos. I do eat. How about me?

Just because a person doesn't do these things doesn't make them Mormon material. Academic and social beliefs have something to do with it. Give it a rest.

Vinnie the Tomato - does have a certain New Jersey quality to it. Yes, Sweet Tomatoes is at 100th South and State St. in Sandy.

harmony: Dead Goat Saloon. SLC. Hilarious place.

Years ago, they used to have the best triple cheeseburgers in town. I am uncertain what has transpired with it, Arrow Press Square and the new Gordon B. Hinckley Mall. The garlic burgers at the Cotton Bottom Inn at the end of Holiday Boulevard are quite good.

Misery,

Are those the things you think would make me a good Mormon? The alcohol and stuff? Just for the written record, I have drunk/drank/drinked alcohol, I have gambled and have viewed x-rated movies. I'm from Jersey for pete's sake. I just don't do them any more mainly because I find it boring and quite honestly, I'd rather shop than gamble money. I visited Atlantic City this past summer and the bus company gives you 20$ to do with it what you will. Some of us took it into the casino's and gambled it (which is what they want you to do) and the rest of us (myself included) shopped with it!
