Exmos Just Want To Have Fun (Harmony made me do it...)

Post by _Coggins7 »

I get mad, when Packer speaks
When he talks about those tattoos and those Gen X geeks
Oh Mr. Quinn why must we be on the run
And exmos just want Old Testament have fun
Oh exmos want to have fun

The phone rings while I'm teasing my hair
Its Sonja Johnson screaming "Patriarchy's not fair!"
But its over Sonja now your hair's in a bun
And exmos they want to have fun
Oh exmos want to have fun

That's all they really want
Some fun
When the bitter day is done
exmos they want to have fun
exmos just want to have fun

Scratch, Vegas, and Harmony
They've got popcorn popping on a Hemlock tree
They always think they have a smoking gun
But exmos aren't much fun
Even though they want to have fun

That's all they really want
Some Rum
When the nashing teeth are done
Exmos they want to have fun
Oh exmos just want to have fun,
They want to have Rum,
They want to have fun...

Words and lyrics by Boyd K. Packer, Bon Scott, and H.R. Haldeman.

I need some information and you're free to decline.

1. Did you just make that up within the last 10 minutes or so?

2. Do you have Asperger's?

3. When you write these lyrics do you also hear music to go with them?

If you wish to answer via PM's feel free.

Scratch, Vegas, and Harmony are now immortalized in song. I thought this was fairly cleaver. Keep them coming. Maybe someone can put Coggins/Loran in their lyrics as well.

Would Seuss rhyme pass for lyrics?

Loran,

I wanted to say something here. When I asked the questions above, I am not attempting to embarrass you in any way. When I ask about Asperger's I am implying that, while your lyrics are not uh...."high brow", the ability you have to generate a series of lyrics (that actually make sense) in such a short time, suggests that you are gifted.

Will you answer my questions? It's okay if you'd rather not.

Certainly somebody as unlearned as Loran could not have come up with those lyrics in such a short time span. Either the lyrics were plagiarized from an unpublished manuscript, possibly with the help of co-conspirators, or there was divine help, possibly through the use of a seer-stone or urnim and thummim.

Well, it's not like me to join in herd mentality, Satan, and I sure don't need someone else to think for me. You are wrong about Loran's abilities. He posted these lyrics in under 10 minutes time (so far as I can tell) from the phrases that inspired his lyrics. Perhaps you are not tuned in to things like that. I've seen him do it before and it's remarkable. I'm not saying that the lyrics are "deep". I think Loran himself knows they are not. His ability to produce "musical" language and I'm not simply referring to the lyrics, is something I've noticed in his postings. I could reference several examples of what I'm "talking" about but I'm sure you'd rather mock.

Mock away!

First Jersey, I'm gald that you are no longer calling me names or otherwise tearing me a new one as you used to do.

Second. I don't have Asperger's, but I do have a mild case of Tourette's Syndrome and a littel OCD. I wrote that in about ten minutes, yes (the "Twas The Night Before Excommunication" poem took a bit longer).

I do hear the music, because I have to make the altered lyrics work with the tune (the song I wrote for Cricket, sung to the tune of "Hell On High Heels" was a little diffiicult).

I love writing serious poetry and funny song lyrics. I've written a number of them, some of the best of which dissapeard when my last hard drive went up. I had made a back up but neglected to finish the job before it was too late. That had a piece called Twas' The Night Before Doomsday" which was interesting, and a reworking of 'School Days" by Chuck Berry (attacking public education), and a creaming of Streidand's hit "People" which started out "People, people who eat people.." Well, you can see where that one went. I've been writing stuff like that since High School. One of my first was "Frosty The Snowthing" which I still remember by hear, at least half of it.

It comes in handy here on occasion.

Hmm. I thought Satan was having a bit of fun. I thought it was funny, anyway. I don't know about Loran. Does being drunk help you write lyrics? I wouldn't know, not having been drunk for quite a few years myself, nor do I have Aspargers ... can't write lyrics either ... but can have as much fun as Cindy Lauper once in a while.

Loran: First Jersey, I'm gald that you are no longer calling me names or otherwise tearing me a new one as you used to do.

Jersey Girl: I believe the "tearing" appeared on Z. You don't post here like you did there. Otherwise, consider yourself on probation! ;-)

Loran: Second. I don't have Asperger's, but I do have a mild case of Tourette's Syndrome and a littel OCD. I wrote that in about ten minutes, yes (the "Twas The Night Before Excommunication" poem took a bit longer).

Jersey Girl: You sure about Asperger's? I won't put you on the spot by debating it.

Loran: I do hear the music, because I have to make the altered lyrics work with the tune (the song I wrote for Cricket, sung to the tune of "Hell On High Heels" was a little diffiicult).

Jersey Girl: You don't have to entertain my questions, but I'm still going to ask them. I hope you will answer them, it's kind of where I "live". Do you think that you have strong auditory sense? Do you hear things when others don't? Such as, do you hear airplanes, birds or other distant noises long before others hear them? Or when they don't hear them at all? (Not thinking Asperger's here). A self example, I notice nuances in people's behavior in real life and on boards like these, that's how I noticed your unusual language abilities. People are reading posts for content and in the background I'm somehow "recording" their patterns of behavior. Fortunately, my field of work centers on those observational abilities. I see that you are transposing lyrics word for word, phrase for phrase and that you can make them "fit" and produce an entire piece rapidly. That's fascinating.

Loran: I love writing serious poetry and funny song lyrics. I've written a number of them, some of the best of which dissapeard when my last hard drive went up. I had made a back up but neglected to finish the job before it was too late. Jersey Girl: THANK YOU for answering my questions!
