My music rant........
Am I just getting old? I'm only 39!!
I watched the Grammy awards with my daughter tonight.
Most of the so-called R&B was in a syncopated 4/4 time..... At least the men ended up "singing" a total of 3 notes in entire songs.
With the exception of "You're Beautiful" which my kids make fun of with animated gestures........
Carrie Underwood was the highlight of the night. Even Smokey Robinson...... I forgot he had creepy eyes.
So, what's the verdict? Am I old? ROFL

The talent pool is indeed shallow now-a-days as far as music is concerned. Most great songs are the work of One hit wonders. Very few have more than one good song or one good album.

I voted good taste in music Tundramom. For more information on my musical tastes look at the Autobiographical music thread in the terrestial kingdom. I'm way too much into the 60s and 70s for my own good.

The 70's were about the best time for music that ever was, at least from nearly every critic I have heard.

You can't deny that. Lately I've been looking up some old ELO tunes on YouTube. Man, that stuff is timeless.

From 1964 or so till 1978 or so is my musical Golden Age.
