Are you familiar with the Clerks movies? (Jay and Silent Bob)

Yeah. They're overrated. I like older comedies, more subtle or willing to go out on a limp.
More of my faves:
Blazing Saddles, The Producers, Support Your Local Sheriff (and Gunfighter), Dr. Strangelove, Monty Python (show and movies), Big, Airplane!, Young Frankenstein (That's Frannk-inn-stheen), There's Something About Mary, Animal House, M*A*S*H (movie and show), Slapshot, Naked Gun series, Fuerris Bueller's Day Off, Wayne's World movies, Austin Powers movies, Shrek movies, and most of the Frat Pack movies and Adam Sandler sports movies.
I also hate almost all romantic comedies. To much formula.

What is this genre of movie? I looked the movie up on the net trying to figure out what it is, and I learned this was a rock opera in record form first...
Has anyone seen A Clockwork Orange? That movie was interestingly disturbing as well.
Are there other movies out ther that were made during the 70s like these two?
Oh yea, Tommy, the Rock "opera" by The Who. Loved it when I was a kid but it was strange.

The Who actually cut this as an album and did all the music. Later it was made into a movie and had numerous other rock stars in it-Elton John, Eric Clapton, Tina Turner....

I noticed "Tommy" has made a comeback. It's on our on-demand cable and I suggested my teens watch it. They like wierd stuff and they love traditional opera so I think they'd enjoy it. Not me. I had to listen to my older sister play the Tommy album over and over ad nauseum when I was young. I also got sick of a number of Beatles records because she played them so much. I lived through the 70's so I dislike most of the music from that era.
I didn't start to like popular music much until I heard alternative rock music in the early eighties.

I could see myself serenading GIMR:
Do you know I used to listen to this double album by The Who when I was young. Now I wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled and wonder if I should eat a peach.
Looking at you I get the feeling
Following you I get the heat

I'm young and listen to the album (and own the DVD). Good tunes never go out of style.
