I never did care much for the Mk.19, always thought it was a quirky, prone-to-failure POS. For the amount of whoopass vs headache of maintence it ain't worth the hassle. And that 2200m range is a load of crap. Lucky if you could hit anything with reasonable accuracy at 1000m (I.E. a CEP of 10m or less). One of the reasons why it's automatic, it has to be just so you can hit something through sheer probability. I'd rather have an M2HB .50BMG on overwatch then a Mk.19 anyday.
The Barrett M-107/M-82A1-2-3 is really a fun weapon to shoot, but they are systems a hell of a lot more accurate, and as bllod-thirsty a knuckledragging savage as I am, even I realize that using crap like .50 SLAP on personnel targets is really not that great an idea. Kinda messy and you do have to clean up after-action.

What clean up? You just attach a shovel to the front of the humvee and shove them back over to their side of the border. Just like the Spartans did with the Persians, every wall needs mortar.
And both weapons really wont need to be used that much after the first few weeks. The evidence on the border, along with the photos in the press, will be a deterant on their own.

I don't want anyone to think I advocate the shooting of women and children, so here is an alternative:

And for those who want practice defending the border, heres this (some language): http://www.stickdeath.com/ragbak.html
