The thread will close soon. The insults are flying, Selek has joined in and his aggressiveness tends to get personal and insulting. Others are taking offence and I suspect one named Legend will be suspended or banned.

I don't know, I think this is part of the internet message board experience for some. I think they enjoy the board rivalry and the opportunity to clash with others.

I thought the tone was supposed to be improving since all us rude people got banned. ;-) Who besides selek and Legend (don't know him/her) is hurlilng insults?

Good point..seems they banned the wrong ones if they wanted to improve "tone". Selek and Legend are the main offenders--maybe they'll both get suspended over it. But you can see the thread's heading to being shut down.

Someone suggested DCP was juvenile (Gervin I think). Charity got into the dust up with comments about using real names on the boards. Then one named Legend called Charity a "boot licker", to which Selek jumped in and called Legend something even worse. Another one Asuram has been rah, rah cheerleading for the MABD defenders (it's just a feeling, but if you ask me, Asuram's a sock puppet anyway) which only helps to whip everyone up in a frenzy. Abulafia is trying to bring some reason to the thread--but I'm sure everyone's too worked up to pay attention to what she's saying.

The funny thing is that the real "critics" aren't even involved in the thread because they're banned. There are a couple of posters who question the "innocent" and "guilty" labels some try to wear or pin on others, but in truth..there is no real debate, since their beef is with critics on this board who can't actually participate in the thread.

I noticed Juliann "outed" Moksha on the board. I didn't know he was posting as Severian.

Don't know Legend, but selek has always been a little overly hostile, in my opinion

Well, that wasn't very nice, calling her a bootlicker. I've had my differences with charity, but she's not a bad person.

I don't know how she puts up with it over there. She's been uniformly kind and polite, and she gets trashed repeatedly.

Too much "gee whiz", I think. S/he is a new addition, and so far s/he has mainly been a cheerleader with a testimony. Not that it's a bad thing, but I haven't seen any attempts at substance. S/he is more a broadly drawn caricature. (My apologies to ASURam if I'm totally wrong).

She really has been completely reasonable throughout the thread. Probably the only one that is. And yes, she's been slammed for it.

You've just described half the board over there. LOL. Just kidding. I used to think that about Hammer, too, but I think I was wrong. You never know.

Runtu, Skippy gave my impressions exactly. Asuram is a caricature and yesterday when I first read it, I figured it was one of the "tricksters" over here playing around. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry for suggesting it, but I just don't think I am wrong. I know what you mean about Hammer as first impressions go, I wasn't sure he was for real. But he's stuck around quite a while and he's consistent so I have no reason to believe he's not sincere.

I also agree, calling Charity a boot licker was mean and I think Legend got annoyed with Charity's posts and lashed out. He should get censured for it, if you ask me. But Selek should get censured for responding in kind. There are better ways to defend another poster than resorting to vulgarity.

The repeated references to his/her friend's dad leaving the church after going on message boards also didn't ring true. Overall, the impression is sock-puppetty.
