Study it, you say? I could have been the subject of such a study.

So could I, Ray. Now take what you know firsthand and try to apply it to the exiting Mormon.

As I said before...complete recovery may never be possible for some people (due to the family ties that may never be cut..and some people will only recover when their extended families are out of the church).

Nothing ruins anyone's life, unless they choose to let it ruin their life. The world has seen far more horrors than people getting disillusioned by a Church. Try Nelson Mandela, for a start, who spent 27 years in prison, and when he came out forgave those who jailed him. He didn't go on a "Recovery From Jail" site and whine about his lot - he actively worked for positive change.

I have no problem with most exiting Mormons, only the ones who turn on the Church and bash it in the name of "recovery".

Alright....so the exmos that leave the church....what should they do? Shrug their shoulders and forget about the money and time they've been screwed out of? Should they turn their cheek when they're divorced from their spouses and ostacized by their families because they can't believe in Joseph Smith's fantasies anymore?

Not every man is Nelson Mandela or Gandhi or Jesus Christ...some people don't have the superhuman strength of character that those social reformers have.

So you don't care if people leave the church? Shouldn't you at least worry about people leaving "God's one true church"?

Would you be alright with people leaving the church and admitting they hate the church and want to rip it down? Would that be alright?

I have news for you - MOST who leave the Church leave it alone. Does that shock you? I know many exmos in Oz, and they are not whining and bitching about the Church. They're putting another shrimp on the barbie, going to the footy on Sunday, or the beach, and doing things they didn't do as Mormons. It doesn't take superhuman strength to get on with your life. It does take superhuman strength to get bitterness out of you.

This is what mystifies me: Many exmos on forums who attack the Church say they have "never been happier since leaving the Church". They say, "freedom! How sweet!" They laud the benefits of being out of the Church. Then, they attack the Church on forums. They are not recovering, they are getting revenge. Now note I said "many", not all.

I really don't know what you're on about. Many of them have said how much they hate the Church and want to rip it down.

No it doesn't shock me. But I'm guessing Australia doesn't have the same problems as Utah, where people have many generations of family weighing on them and Mormon culture is overbearing. Maybe they need some Fosters rather than that 3.2% stuff they sell in Utah.

So if the site was called Revenge against Mormonism would you be okay with it?

Well I still don't know what you keep harping on RfM. Honestly what the hell does it matter what they say over there? Why do you worry about it?

A question for you: What the hell does it matter to you what Mormons do or think? Why are you obsessed with Mormons?
