A question for you: What the hell does it matter to you what Mormons do or think? Why are you obsessed with Mormons?

I thought this was a LDS discussion board. I like discussing LDS stuff.

I didn't know I was obsessed with Mormons. I don't think I am.

So are you going to answer my questions now?

This is not an LDS discussion board. I think you need a lot more education in things Mormon. This is a Mormon discussions board. Big difference, but maybe you don't see it.

Of course it concerns me how people go on the attack in such vicious ways. I've said this for ages.

From Samuel the Utahnite, one of their own expressing an opinion about them:

Now, over on the "RFM" board, people pretty much let Simon have it and frankly, that pissed me off. Simon has done so much for so many of us by writing his book, "Losing a Lost Tribe" proving that there is no DNA link between the Native Americans and Israelites but instead that they are related to Asians through extensive DNA studies. I thought the criticism of him for his views of the Newsweek article by Elise Soukup was unwarranted and ridiculous!! The very fact that he even shared personal email interaction that he had with Elise, was admirable to say the least. Simon simply expressed what he felt and got destroyed for it, by a bunch of rabid dogs that only wanted one thing from Elise, a massive, anger ridden, anti-Mormon tell all article about the Mormon Church.

Thanks for "telling it like it is", Sam.

Anyone who reads Sam's blog knows Sam doesn't like some of the posters and Mods on RFM (particularly Steve Benson). I don't particularly like what RfM posters have to say about alot of things (when I read there...which isn't too often). All I'm saying is it's there right to say whatever they want about the church...and that it doesn't do any real harm because they're just venting.

I didn't know that Sam doesn't like Steve Benson. WoW! An exmo (Sam) I might actually have to take more seriously. But truth be told, I did like Sam when he posted on the old MDB. His exit story was one of the few that affected me. At least he has the guts to step out of the rabid mob-mentality, even though I strongly disagree with his views of the Church.

I am not denying RFM the freedom to spue whatever bile they want. I have the right to express my opinion as well.

Yep. Here's a couple of blog posts that detail his feelings on Benson.

Of course. I'm surprised that more apologists aren't using this board for the express purpose of commenting on RfM (since Shades encourages board wars and commentary on other boards).

Very interesting, and I still have the "honour" of being one of Benson's first critics on RFM, partly for which I eventually got booted. All I can say for Sam is, "the enemy of your enemy is your friend". But we have vastly different opinions. For example, Sam writes:

The question is; what will you do with that truth once you learn it? Will you become a disgusting, loathsome Mormon apologist, with no moral values, like Daniel C. Peterson and then begin to defend, excuse and justify all the Mormon Hierarchy's teachings of hate, racism, sexism, etc, or will you have the inner strength, to admit that these things are wrong and couldn't have possibly come from men of God and to walk away from the Mormon cult?

Apparently I'm a "disgusting, loathsome Mormon apologist with no moral values".

There you go beastie. Eat that one up. He might as well have called me Eichmann.

I have news for you - MOST who leave the Church leave it alone.

I have news for you, you don't KNOW most who leave the church. Good grief.

Nothing ruins anyone's life, unless they choose to let it ruin their life. The world has seen far more horrors than people getting disillusioned by a Church. Try Nelson Mandela, for a start, who spent 27 years in prison, and when he came out forgave those who jailed him. He didn't go on a "Recovery From Jail" site and whine about his lot - he actively worked for positive change.

Nonsense and b***s***, Ray. Take for example the male TBM who shares with his wife that he's lost his testimony. His wife leaves him. The kids follow suit. His life is ruined. What were his choices?

Well lessee.....he could have kept his disbelief to himself and lived a lie. He could just suck it up and move on with his life even though the life he built and the family he created has turned it's back on him.

Great choices, Ray.
