I think there's a tendency among exmormons to feel like we were "blind and now can see" and thus look at our believing friends and family as somehow delusional or ignorant or whatever.

But we were all in the same boat. Were we stupid? Delusional? Stubborn? For me, I think everything always came back to my testimony. I knew that the church was true, so every piece of evidence was going to be analyzed within that pre-existing knowledge. In other words, no evidence was going to Trump the spiritual knowledge I had, so the obviousness of the Book of Abraham problems (or any number of other things that seem obvious now) was always secondary to testimony.

One small turning point for me was when cinepro said to me that for me, "the spirit Trump's everything." Of course I was offended, but he was right. The end came when I had a clear realization of what kinds of things I was rationalizing in order to make the testimony work. I had sold my conscience, and I knew it. I had to leave.

So, no, church members are not delusional or stupid or stubborn. They just see things from a different perspective. I'm not really sure what changed my perspective, but I'm certainly not going to tell anyone their perspective is wrong. It's just different.

Carry on your show. I'm sure all eyes are riveted to the wisdom of marg and Noel.

Ray are you just trying to make me happy? I love it when you get mad.

I just want to know when and how Noel became some sort of boogie-man. "Ewww, you should date NOEL!!" Was I supposed to be outraged by that comment?

I'm assuming it's the same Noel that used to post on FAIR. I don't remember him being some horrible, ranting, evil exmormon, but then apparently I'm so biased I can't see future Nazis fomenting right before my eyes.

I don't even think he posts on MAD anymore. Poor guy, why is he Ray's poster boy for whatever Ray's advertising?

I mean, why pick on Noel when we have Satan himself right on our board? (a.k.a. Mr. Scratch)

Noel00 (I think that was the nick)? Didn't seem all that evil to me. You have to go to New Zealand to find the really evil folks. ;-)

Well, Bond, we can only hope that, wherever Noel is in the cyber world, he is flattered. ;)

I sure hope Ray is flattered. I posted a dossier of him to my blog.
