Let's see if I remember....

Jersey Girl: Johnny Depp
beastie: McIndy

Hmmm...so many men, so little time. ;)

A few of my favorites are Harrison Ford, Pierce Brosnan, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon. But don't worry, Bond...you're still at the top of my list. ;)

Ray's referred to his publications before so aussie isn't telling tales out of school.

Back to the important topic of the day, while many men catch my eye (and I admit that I have a fondness for dark-haired, Jewish-looking intellectual types), as far as sex appeal, no one holds a candle to McIndy - he's in a league of his own.

Pierce, no doubt, is beautiful, and what woman could resist him when he combines that beauty with such faithful love and devotion to his wife? He nursed his first wife until she died of cancer. His second, current, wife has gained quite a bit of weight since they married, and he declares he loves her voluptuous curves.

Now that, my friends, is a REAL man.

Yes, please shut up now aussie, we're talking about men and unless you're willing to share your personal list of hot guys, I'm afraid you're participation on this thread will not survive the topic shift.

Okay, I agree with some of the names listed so far....Pierce Brosnan, Harrison Ford, John Cusack (did anyone formally list him?), McIndy of course has to remain listed since he has now become a list icon.

A few personal choices (I'll add more later)

Johnny Depp (goes without saying)
Alfredo Pacino
John Travolta (he has to be dancing)
Sean Connery (preferrably in hiis kilt)

Let me think of more as the day goes on. I think we should create a formal list in another forum.

It's the eyes and that half smile...does he KNOW what he does with the eyebrows or is that a natural expression? ah...who cares.

Sean is gorgeous, no doubt. He looks like a god in some of his earlier photos, and has aged very well. However, I am personally prejudiced against him due to some ill-advised opinions he seems to hold about male/female relationships.

From wiki:

He caused an uproar in a December 1987 interview with Barbara Walters in which he said it was okay for a man to slap a woman with limited force, assuming that it was required to calm her down or "keep her in line." (see the video here. interview) Connery had made similar remarks in a November 1965 interview with Playboy magazine on the set of Thunderball.

No matter how gorgeous a man may be, he loses all sex appeal to me if his personality is just too damning.

George Clooney, yes, he's a good one. I always rate him highly. But for some reason he doesn't rev my engines like some others. Maybe he's TOO gorgeous.

I adore Robert Downey Jr, for example, and I have been mocked widely due to my attraction to Bill Maher. Both of those guys, while not possessing the sheer gorgeousness of Sean Connery, just drip sex appeal to me. RrrrRRRrrough.

Of course, neither approach the icon status of JOSH, JOSH, JOSH.

Lest anyone imagine my JOSH crush bothers my sweetie, the truth is that I am unabashedly in love with and adore my sweetie, and those feelings have only deepened in the ten years we've been a couple. Besides, he adores Sheryl Crowe, whom I used to mutter unkind remarks about due to that fact, until she proved herself beyond criticism by going on her current green tour. Now I love her, too.

Hush up, Fort. You have supplied no evidence for your entry of George Clooney.

Now, I agree with what beastie has said about Pierce being a real man. Sadly, I have no comparable list of notable admirations for the men who make it to my list. My list is, based on superficial characteristics and otherwise truth in packaging. ;-)

1. My reasons for listing Johnny Depp should be apparent to anyone with the gift of sight.

2. Alfredo Pacino is an accomplished actor who clawed his way up out of the relative slums of NYC to become a professional stage and film actor and he also is a well noted Shakespearan actor (didn't know that, did ya?) which automatically (along with the packaging) warrants him placement on him my list.

3. John Travolta is a Jersey Boy. Dropped out of high school and went into theater performance. He's a good enough actor but my reason for listing him has nothing whatsoever to do with his acting abilities. John Travolta knows how to dance. He can dance gracefully in the image of say, a Fred Astaire (though not as light on his feet) and he can well, lets just say that when a good Motown tune is on...he knows what it's there for. ;-)

4. Sean Connery is by all accounts a womanizer. He has a caustic whit and is outspoken to a fault, he couldn't be PC if he tried and I think that can be refreshing from time to time. (not the womanizing). He has aged far beyond graceful, into a silvery chiseled work of art. I'd pay money to see him walk down the street in his kilt with a group of pipers playing behind him.

I'd have to agree on Sean Connery (the original Bond!). To quote Goldie Hawn in 1st Wives Club "He's like 300 years old and still a hunk!"

Seriously that guy could get most the women and half the men in the world. Now back to my creed, "I'm secure in my masculinity. I'm secure..."
