Seriously that guy could get most the women and half the men in the world. Now back to my creed, "I'm secure in my masculinity. I'm secure..."

He's not the original Bond, Bond. Barry Nelson (who has just died) is apparently the original Bond.

And in response to your second comment. Yes, he could.

I guess I should say he'll always be "The Original" Bond for me because he's my favorite Bond actor.

Now shouldn't you gals get back to playing man candyland?

Where's Patrick Dempsey and David Beckham?

I think of him as the original too, Bond. With regards to Patrick Dempsey and David Beckham, as I stated previously to Fort, you must supply evidence for your candidate to be seriously considered.

Patrick Dempsey is definitely sexy, not sure about Beckham (don't even know what he looks like). But for me, as I've stated, there is some probably undefinable "something" that pushes a sexy, handsome man into icon territory. I don't think Dempsey is quirky enough for me, most likely. I have to admit, I like smart guys. I have to see some good evidence of that before I go ga-ga.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

I don't even think he posts on MAD anymore. Poor guy, why is he Ray's poster boy for whatever Ray's advertising?

I mean, why pick on Noel when we have Satan himself right on our board? (a.k.a. Mr. Scratch)

Noel00 (I think that was the nick)? Didn't seem all that evil to me. You have to go to New Zealand to find the really evil folks. ;-)

I remember Noel when I spent 2 months on the board about 2 years ago. He was level headed and intelligent. Thanks Ray for suggesting he's my type, you're right.

Given the turn this thread has taken I was trying to think of the last time I thought anyone in the public eye was sexy...and today one person came to mind.

His name is (Prof) Robert M. Hazen. I have a DVD lecture of his put out by the Teaching Company called Joy of Science.

Here are some links to learn more about him.

I looked over the links you provided, marg. I think Prof. Hazen definitely qualifies. I like that he has musical talent.

Now see, there is definitely something wrong with me (yes, we knew that). You put up links with his academic qualifications and what I see is the symphonic trumpet and his eyes.

Thanks for that new entry.

Jersey Girl I don't think you read his bio fully. He's actually quite an accomplished professional musician besides being an accomplished scientist, writer and university professor.

Here I'll post what it says:

In addition to his academic pursuits, Robert Hazen has played symphonic trumpet professionally since 1966. He studied in Boston with Natalo Paella, Andre Come, and Armando Ghitalla, and in Washington with Steven Hendrickson, Adel Sanchez, Chris Gekker and Emerson Head. He has appeared as soloist with the Boston Symphony Esplanade Orchestra, the National Gallery Orchestra, the Washington Handel Festival Orchestra, and on BBC TV in England. Hazen has given many recitals in the United States and Great Britain; in 1998 he appeared as soloist at the Kennedy Center with the Washington Chamber Symphony. He has performed with numerous ensembles in Europe and North America, including the Boston and National Symphonies, Orchestre de Paris, the New York, Boston, Washington, and Metropolitan Operas, and the Jeoffrey, American, Kirov, and Royal Ballets. He performs regularly with the National Gallery Orchestra, the Washington Bach Consort (on historic instruments), and the National Philharmonic, for which he is also a Board Member. Hazen has been recorded with ensembles on DDG, Pro Arte, New World, Nonesuch, Smithsonian and AMI records.

I didn't read the whole thing, no. As soon as I found the artistic talent/symphonic trumpet, I stopped. I need to be analyzed. ;-)

I'm assuming you know who Dempsey is (Grey's Anatomy's McDreamy). Beckham is basically the most famous soccer player in the world.

Reasons for his inclusion (since I'm supposed to put forth a case):

1) Money-recently signed a 5 year/250 million dollar contract (besides already being rich)
2) Soccer player-conditioning/stamina/endurance (insert what you want here)
3) fashion icon
4) Go to the photos=Beckham photos

Edit: On a completely unrelated note, I think Sean Bean should qualify based on the name of his groupies/fans, "Beanstalkers" (which I heard in the Lord of the Rings DVD commentary and thought was great.)
