I don't know. On Conference weekend I got suspended again for only one day by, apparently, some moderator that just isn't happy with me at all. But I emailed the board admin asking if he knew why, since there was no moderator editing of any of my posts for the whole preceding week saying why, and he actually unsuspended me and apologized that it took so long. That's really odd. So there seems to be some difference of opinion in the mod squad about me. On the other hand, I didn't get invited to be in the "spam buster" group and some of the more polite critics did, so that shows I'm not exactly on their Christmas Card list either.

I'm actually at the point where I probably wouldn't even care anymore if they banned me, but as part of that apathy I haven't had much desire to post either, so I may well not even have the opportunity to get banned. I've almost had enough of the lunacy.

Personally, I voted for Jaybear, because he butted heads specifically with Daniel Peterson, and that seems to be as much of a "kiss of death" as any we've yet identified.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

There is a certain sting in being banned, even if you feel somewhat immune to the possibility. Don't give up on the Christmas card list. It might take a fresh crate of donuts delivered to the Maxwell Institute, but there is always hope.

What exactly is that spam buster group? Can the privilege be abused to wipe out posts the spam busters disagree with?

They created a group of people designated to be able to delete entire threads if the threads are obvious spams. I speak of porn spams, pill spams, etc. Not just threads those individuals don't like. They made clear that the power was only for that one forum, and that the real mods had the power to restore any thread that was improperly deleted, and a record of who deleted it.

Hmmm. If that's true, Her Amun will never get another chance to start a new thread. ;-)

Here are my predictions.

Mormonthinker: Pahoran and Selek are suspicious so I'm sure the mods are too. Check out the thread titled; Website My Mormon Bil Sent To Me: "the Psychological Effects Of Mormonism" for why I put her first on my list.

Minofyre: This poster is mercurial and could be a problem if you ask me.

Asuram: Hasn't been banned yet, I suspect the mods are just watching him to see what he posts next.

Selek will probably get suspended again. After his last suspension, I could tell he was really trying to watch his words and he was doing a great job, but he's letting himself go again so I suspect he'll get into a tiff with someone and have to be reprimanded.

I don't believe The Dude will be banned. He's a valuable poster so they don't want to lose him. I'm sure they're hoping he'll cool off and come back.

Sethbag hasn't done anything to get banned--he's also liked on the board-I don't think he's in any danger.

Sometimesaint pops off on political things every so often and I don't believe they do anything more than reprimand--he doesn't start the political thread--just reacts. He's safe.

Jaybear and MightyCurelom are MaDB fixtures--they're aren't going anywhere.

Only a true idiot (or Juliann) would ban Addict. He's refused to interact with her at all, so her frustration at not being able to engage the most engaging critic to ever grace the boards must be just torturing her tiny lil soul.

Selek got suspended? That warms my heart. How'd it happen?

Yep-- that's how she operates. Baiting people then crying FOUL when they react.

Since I left, the place has gotten real boring. They know who I am in real life, and since I moved, they don't know where I am. Which is just fine with me.

In the end, it's their playground and they can ban whom they wish. The only reason these kinds of polls are fun is that the reasons for banning are so arbitrary and weird. I'd really like to be a fly on the wall when they make their decisions. Would be fascinating to see how they operate.

Runtu, do you have any suggestions to aid them in any capriciousness?
