It's a fair enough question. As others have said, losing 'belief' is not the same thing as losing 'interest'. But I think there is an even more obvious reply: We've been invited here. This is a forum intended for discussion between LDS and non-LDS.
Why invite people to show up, and then wonder why they would show up? How much sense would it make to do that? ...I'm always intreaged at the mind-reading that some LDS let themselves indulge in on this point...
There are some athiest forums that I used to post on regularly. And they had their fair share of thiest posters popping in. There would be 'robust' discussions and disagreement there, just as can happen here. (And let's not be under any qualms about whether many thiests visited the atheist forums to 'attack' athiesm or not. They can often be as full-on as any anti-Mormon...)
But you know what I can't ever remember hearing at the atheist forum? Not even once...? ...I never heard an athiest ask a thiest "So - why do you even bother posting here if you truly beleive there is a God?!"
I guess they didn't feel the need to ask somebody why they showed up (in a way that might question their motives), when they were invited to show up in the first place...!
I also think it's interesting to look at the posting stats between the 'LDS Dialogue & Discussion' forum and the 'LDS Fellowship' forum.
Going by posts, the inter-faith dialogue forum is nearly 20 times more popular than the LDS-friendly-only discussions forum. And I don't think that's because the LDS are outnumbered 20 to 1!
...so not only are we invited here - it looks like people are more than happy to talk to us too...
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.
Our own Ray, the "exmormons are inciting future Nazis to mass murder" poster, of course chimed in:
An angry exmo is a restless and disgruntled soul who can't find rest. Like a barnacle that attaches to a boat it wants to sink because it's jealous the boat is still floating while it has sunk. Is there any more pathetic a sight then one who seeks to destroy that which they once relied on for their own salvation? They bite the hand that once fed them. Like traitors sucking on blood, they lust after any blood left in those who still believe.
My question: is there any more pathetic sight than one who claims to believe in the truth claims of the LDS church, but refuses to live according to its demands?

One foot in the door, the other out. Sounds like the best of both worlds.

Yes there is. It's one who goes back and forth between criticism and defense over and over and over again. How many times can one guy change his mind?
WK: "Joseph Smith asserted that the Book of Mormon peoples were the original inhabitants of the americas"
Will Schryver: "No, he didn’t." 3/19/08
Still waiting for Will to back this up...

Actually, I think there is a rhyme to his reason. It depends on which side offended him last.
The one real, live example of someone who left to sin, and alters stance after getting his feelings hurt.
Now, if an exmormon on RFM or here were to say this:
An angry mo is a restless and disgruntled soul who can't find rest. Like a barnacle that attaches to a boat it wants to sink because it's jealous the boat is sailing with full strength while its own anchor keeps it tied to the ocean floor, sinking deeper and deeper. Is there any more pathetic a sight then one who seeks to destroy those who left their faith, all the while trying to convince others to leave their own faiths for Mormonism? They bite the hand that was once its brother. Like traitors sucking on blood, they lust after any blood left in those who no longer believe.
he'd use it as an example of Luther, creating a climate of pathological hate that led to the rise of the Nazis and mass murder.

Talk about restless and disgruntled souls...after 5+ years of reading RfM and other sites you think he'd find some rest. But like a barnacle that attaches itself to a boat it wants to sink Ray A just can't seem to leave the USS Exmo alone.

On the thread Apostates, NonBelievers, Anti's Etc..

Wow! An utterly brilliant post! The Good Renegade can be assured of an especially laudatory dossier indeed! Well, this should put a permanent end to juliann's completely asinine, "Why do you come here?!?" whines. The simple retort, from here on out, ought to be, "Because you invited us." Really and truly, The Good Renegade deserves a medal.
(Now let's see how long it takes for the Mods to discipline him/her.)

Yes, there is, actually, and that's an apostate like you who spends her life trying to destroy what she once believed, and now denies! The least you could do is leave Mormons alone. But you have this gut-wrenching addiction to proving them wrong.

And can YOU leave Mormons alone??? You are not even a Mormon, and have, quite frankly, a pathetic understanding of Mormonism skewed by the BIGOTS who post here.
