I ask you, how is it possible to be positive about either of those subjects, especially the MMM?

You underestimate the creativity of Mormon apologists.

Actually, I recall someone on FAIR/MAD speaking quite positively about the MMM. Can't remember what the point was, but I thought it was appalling.

I don't recall ever seeing anything here to that effect, but, of course, I could be mistaken. Unlikely as it is, my stalker could, for once, actually be telling the truth. I mean, it's not totally inconceivable . . .

Anyway, if such a massacre fan actually exists, I hope that he or she will come forward. Don't be shy! If you believe that the Mountain Meadows Massacre was a good thing, say so!

Unless I'm mistaken, the poster in question was Hammer. (Perhaps Kevin Graham can confirm this, or somebody with searching privileges at MAD.) I believe Hammer's remark was something to the effect that those slaughtered were "better off," since the survivors had to live with the pain of knowing that their family had been killed. Or something like that. The point is that I'm pretty sure it was Hammer.

For those who are interested, DCP is now whining (yet again) that I am "misrepresenting" him. He is also engaging in the sort of namecalling that he routinely chastises RfM for. Anyways, I checked, and here is an old post of his in which he does appear to be gloating about how much the documentary would "stick it to the critics." Others can judge for themselves whether or not this is what he and his fan club were doing:

The RfM crowd will hate this documentary. They will have fits.

Why? As a mainstream documentary, it will say objectively positive things about the Church and not be as harshly negative as they expect.

It will drive them crazy.

The folks at MAD have indeed performed an "about-face".
