I am just trying to get some insights into your motives in posting here what you did.

Hey Wade---I just noticed something about your post, and I'm curious.
Taking a look at the portion I bolded....
In comparison...Do you really feel that Shade's board is "prejudiced against Mormons"? That seems to be what you're implying.
I don't really see this as the case.
Just curious as to your take.
No, I wouldn't characterize Shade's board as prejudiced against Mormons. But, I do believe there are several participants here who are deeply prejudiced against Mormons. A couple of them added their sympathetic spite to Grayskull's lament--which I suspect Grayskull had anticipated, and may even have desired.
And, I understand that it can be somewhat frustrating when people don't honor certain requests. But, I have found it helpful to be somewhat understanding of mild infractions, particularly when the request is made to a large organization. It is quite possible that some people may have not gotten the word.
Even still, I don't see how it would serve anyone's benefit to gripe and complain about it here. Certainly not something as seemingly insignificant as a chance visit for a minute or two. Besides, there are some rather significant issues facing the world that may well warrant discussion, so why sweat the small stuff?
Thanks, -Wade Englund-
I think a better example might be this:
Let's say johnny used to be a republican. But then he switched over to be a democrat, and told the republicans to stop calling him, and to stop the house visits. But the republican's kept on ignoring him, and so johnny was forced to be rude to get them off his doorstep.
So then johnny goes to a board known to have a democratic slant to it, and posts his experience about the republicans.
Is johnny (and anyone who responds sympathetically to johhny) a bigot/prejudiced?

Good point. So why are we even discussing Mormonism at all?
You'll have to answer that for yourselves. For my part, rather than discussing Mormonism, I have attempted to shift the focus to our finding workable life strategies and functional self-improvements that may be generalized to enriching a broad range of human relationships and to enhance the human condition.

Someone on RFM went one step further: When missionaries stopped him on the street, he said, "How can I know that you are true messengers from Father?" The kid then gave the guy one of the tokens of the Melchizedek Priesthood!
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

Yikes! I'll bet his mission president gave him a stern talking-to!

Then you're on the wrong board man.

Once when I was in the MTC, the Sunday School lesson was about the Word of Wisdom. The teacher started reciting the promises associated with it: "And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones" but instead of continuing on with the next verse, she recited another well-known passage that discusses health in the navel and marrow in the bones. When she realized what she was doing, she stopped and looked rather scared. But never fear, a helpful young elder finished the recitation for her.

Hahahaha, I remember one particularly straight-edged, obnoxiously pious member of my stake who knocked on the door of a High Council Meeting I was attending. My friend on the Council knew who it was, ran to the door before anyone else there, and did just that to the guy. He was spluttering and fuming. I just wished I could have recorded the moment.

That single instance would be insufficient to make such a determination.
Besides, the point for me isn't so much whether someone may reasonably be catagorized as prejudiced or bigotted or not, but whether the attitudes and behaviors being exemplified are functional and valued. Petty and spiteful griping and gossip, whether about Mormons or black kids or Republicans, tends to only serve to degrade all parties involved, and thus it would be wise not to engage therein.

You may be right--not because my focus isn't relevant or needed here (I think there is considerable relevance and need), but because it is becoming more and more apparent that too many here may be closed-minded to workable life strategies and functional self-improvements.
