Atheists who believe in moral truth must be nihilists.

ROFL, well I'm sure he'd attribute that to the fact that since atheists have no souls, you'd be incapable of feeling anyway.

Because a FAIR "sock puppet" - I.e. a Mormon - doesn't believe in Jesus Christ? I guess that is what you are implying, but this has nothing to do with anything this thread is about.
That's right! This thread is about meaninglessness. I think it's clever that it's turned out to be meaningless. Talk about flawless execution.
I'm nihilistic about this thread. I think it stands to reason, therefore, that a creator of this thread doesn't really exist.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

It might not have been an ad hominem attack, but it was, at the very least, quite a nasty Freudian Slip, since it betrays your preconceptions and prejudices. (I.e., that the posters on this board are probably mentally unsound.) Even if it was only an accident, I do think it would be in your best interest to apologize.
The reason I misread "mental" into it is that a mental health issue would help explain her behavior to me. The comment makes less sense otherwise. I still get it. We should "take it easy" on someone recovering form some serious health problem. However this was in reply to my bafflement at why I was so clearly misread and attacked. This has been the explanation for this kind of behavior from posters in the past, so I guess I misread "mental" into it. By don't let that stop you from insisting that this means I harbor a secret prejudice that all posters on this board are mentally unstable by channeling the theories of a long discredited psychiatrist. Ironically, that you insist on imputing this motive into me might have more to say about your prejudices than anything.

Only to fundamentalist Christians who think they're the only thinking beings with souls on the planet is an honest question an attack.
One more useless addition to this board, welcome A Light in the Darkness. Now you can go sit in the corner with Cog, Plutarch, and Wade when he's feeling snarky. But Wade is coming around, we're learning to like Wade.

Well, he hasn't pissed me off. He's just reminded me that it's important to frame discussions in the appropriate rhetorical structure, or you'll come across as condescending and rude.
But he was attacked, Runtu. I bit him on the ass by asking him a question, so all of his behavior is now justified. Kind of like saving grace from the fundie point of view, all the evil things you have done and are to do are covered by the blood of Christ. Just eat, drink, and be merry, because you know you're saved.

He was talking about you? Hmph. I thought he was talking about me.

I just thought it was funny that he came in asking for a fight and then basically said "it figures" when he got what he wanted. All this because we "misread" his own statement: "I gather than in these quarters, my thread title is likely to be met with rolled eyes and hyperventilating dismissals pouring from flushed faces."
What exactly are we supposed to get out of this? Does he think this is an appropriate opening for a reasoned discussion?
