Ahhh... in the last 24 hours MADB has driven me absolutly insane! I've written two new blogs about it and I just feel so overwhelmed over there. I made the comment in my latest blog they are the best kept anti-Mormon secret today - which I've been saying in real life for a while now. But out of respect, have kept it to close friends and my husband - but now I'm just so upset! What is up with them over there!!!!

It appears so. I believe I just might have been banned. I cannot believe this. And looking over the discussions - other posters like Garden Girl and her clique and completly LYING about what I have said in past threads and I cannot even defend myself. Oh why?!!?!?!

You have been banned....welcome to the club (it's very crowded). I'm sure the reasons for your banning include:

1) publicly leaving the church on the board (it isn't very faith promoting)
2) critical (in other words: free) thinking
3) Going head to head with Juliann
4) Posting here
5) this apocraphal blog entry that called MAD anti-mormon (I'd love to read it by the way!!!)

As to the Harpy Brigade (which is what Mister Scratch calls the antagonistic females at MAD, led by Juliann).....I wouldn't worry about them. Most realistic people who follow these boards know the MAD board is becoming something of a joke due to their unfair Moderation practices.

Yay! I can't wait to see it. :) I think what may have gotten me into trouble (thinking back on it) was when I shared part of my testimony with Calmoruh (sp?). I shared with her (grrr I wish it was still up so I could c&p) how my in-laws passed along anti-Mormon materials to us when we first came to the LDS church and how upset this made me. So I went in search of LDS writing anti stuff and couldn't find any - nor could I find any LDS speaking badly of other churches, people, or faiths. And how the Spirit used this to move and convict me (I also interjected that while the church doesn't really teach or stress the importance of personal conviction via the Holy Spirit it still does teach how to interact properly with those who oppose the church). I shared with her how I was thoroghly disillusioned when I came to the MAD boards and found how the 11th AoF was thrown out the window and advice of leaders as well (indeed shortly after GC one poster started a thread asking if one talk about speaking kindly with all people should extend to online forums.) Finally I concluded that our actions - especially on online forums where all we have is what we read on the screen - are our testimonies of how important the Savior is in our lives, His place in our lives and hearts, and how He has changed, molded, and sculpted us. I stated, "The testimony of Jesus Christ and His influence in their lives of SOME of the LDS MADB posters is quite sad indeed. It speaks volumes." Then suddenly - no more access to MAD and no replies to now two emails asking why I was suddenly banned. No replies, no communication whatsoever.

So how long is a banning good for? What exactly occurs with a banning? And why are the mods not replying to me? Why didn't I get a warning?

It's good until they decide to lift it, which could be tomorrow, or forever... or until you change servers.

With a true banning, you can't even view the board.

The mods have no obligation to reply to you at all. Why should they? You are nothing to them... just another in a long line of faceless people they trash without a qualm.

And you wouldn't get a warning. You don't deserve a warning. It's your task to stay away from the invisible wiggling line in the sand they draw. You screwed up; you're banned. Have a nice life... without MAD.

You are banned from posting, personal messaging, and searching under that log in identity....of course you could always create a new one...

And why are the mods not replying to me?

They're playing hard-to-get. They don't respond to my Valentines or Christmas cards either :(

Why didn't I get a warning?

Very few get warnings. Check out Dr. Shades blog for the full details on some of the bigger purges that were complete blindsides to some posters.
