So anyway, about the thread topic, I don't think you can really give the Mormons a hard time about their particular brand of Christianity. I mean, they're just adding to the mythology. I think what pisses off the more "mainstream" Christian churches is that they feel they've got a copy write on the material and don't want people messing with it.

It's just like writing a new adventure about Luke Skywalker and friends. That's all fine and dandy; just don't let George Lucas's lawyers find out about it.

Its not adding to, its restoring. Just ask Justin Martyr.

You think Mormons have restored the mythology of Christ? I don't think the mythology ever went away, man.

Nobody can know anything about Jesus until they've studied ACIM for about 60 gazillion years.

Bruce R. McConkie added a footnote to the above highlighted portion.

Meaning that he has a spiritual body which by revealed definition is a resurrected body of flesh and bones (1 Cor. 15:44-45; D&C 88:27)

Here are the scripture references:

1 Cor. 15:44-45
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

D&C 88:27
27 For notwithstanding they die, they also shall rise again, a spiritual body.

That does not work. The lecture states the father is a personage of spirit followed by stating the son has a physical body. The two are contrasted. It is clear this lecture teaches the father is a spirit and does not have a physical body.
