26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Also, do you think the portion of Romans that you quoted is directed at any one group or what?
Yes, that's a trick question.

I think that verse simply states that the women were having sex outside the bonds of marriage. I think that includes Lesbianism.
The whole section is stating that despite the true church being present, and despite their having an understanding of the gospel, people can be led away to act in unrighteousness and wickedness. They delude themselves through temporal logic and obscene justifications
There are trials we pass through simply by being born and living life. When we accept the gospel and enter into covenants with God, we are held to a higher standard by God, and increase our being a target to Satan and his devils who prick our mortal hearts with wicked passions. It occured in the days of Noah, and many were led away soon after the death of Father Adam. One of the appeals of visiting the descendants of Cain in the cities on the plains were the music and orgies, many being drawn away from the villages of the people of God to sin in the city below.
Do you see it as being directed toward any particular group?

In verse 7 he is addressing the members of the church in Rome.
in verse 18 he states that there are apostates who hold the truth in unrighteousness, then he proceeds to say what becomes of the faith when apostates begin corrupting doctrine and justifying wickedness.

None of those verses are contained in the portion that you posted.

So I'm gonna say this is directed at Bishops.
If I'm wrong, please give me the full correction, the suspence is now killing me.
Why do you insist on hopping all over the portion of Romans 1 that you posted instead of reading it? It gives you a stunning cultural reference and you don't even see it. What is up with you Mormon's anyway? Don't they teach you to read scripture in your church?

(Think that'll provoke him to actually reading what he posted? ;-)

While Gaz is considering reading the portion of Roman's 1 that he used, I'd like to take this opportunity to make a brief speech regarding my interaction with almost every LDS I've ever discussed scripture with on a board like this. ;-)
The recurrring problem, as I see it, is that LDS yank out a verse or two from a whole portion of scripture, sometimes even out of an entire chapter and read "around" the body of the chunk they're using instead of reading it all. Zakuska, for example, does this with such a high level of regularity that one is left with the impression that he's poking around the whole Bible looking for whatever he thinks sounds good and is secretly making up his own revised Bible.
In the exchanges above, Gaz is focusing on a phrase or two and missing the forest for the trees. It's right in front of his face and he's not reading it in context. The way Gaz is reading it or using it, you could take the phrase out of the historical and cultural context and place it in New York City somewhere around 42nd street and you'd never know the difference.
Do LDS think the Bible is such a boring read that they can't get through say, 10 verses in context without nodding off?
Okay, speech over. Let's see if Gaz is done reading yet. :-) He couldn't be waiting for me to stop nagging him because he should already know that I won't.
