The question, Nehor, is really, as more information comes to light, what are you going to do if that information comes down not on the side the LDS church is taking?
Because to be honest, more information about homosexuality is coming out all the time, and has been for years, now, and it doesn't support the LDS worldview. I don't foresee that changing.
So, are you waiting for more information to come out, and come what may, or are you waiting for more information to come out that supports the LDS position?
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

In my lifetime, the church's position has changed dramatically. I remember President Kimball saying that it was blasphemous to say that there were natural or biological causes for homosexuality. More recently, Oaks and others have said that the cause isn't important, but whether one acts on the desire.

When I said I was waiting for more information I meant divine information to put the pieces together and figure out what I should be doing, if anything. Most of the information coming out right now is an examination of why some people are homosexual. That is not what I need to know.

Nehor, I think that's a pretty healthy attitude to take. Within a Mormon context, the idea of a biological cause for homosexuality presents huge problems. So I applaud your effort to be understanding and compassionate. Would that Mr. Phelps and others (even one or two on this board) would follow suit.

Well you're going to be waiting for an awfully long time then. God doesn't seem to actually talk to the LDS prophets and apostles anymore, if he ever did (which I doubt). When was the last time we got anything other than a Prophet's fallible human opinion on anything? With the state of "revelation" in the LDS church, I would hardly expect anything from God on the subject of homosexuality any time in the next hundred years.

Gaz, I have to say I'm really disappointed by that remark. I've always found you to be thoughtful and kind and not given to the kind of silly, exaggerated and distorted statements favored by some of the ignorati on this board.
There's nothing really to say in resonse to that except to wonder why on earth you felt compelled to type it. Strike that. I don't think I want to know. I'm happier thinking people are more or less reasonable, even when I know they're not. It makes day-to-day survival a bit more bearable to ignore the worst of humanity...

I said that because I want people to really try to grasp the homosexual concept beyond the "Oh they are so persecuted if only people would try to understand them" line of garbage.
Homosexuality is a sickness and a perversion, plain and simple. You can wrap it in a "fabulous" bow and pretty paper, but at its core its a sick perversion.
Mark my words, withen the next ten years people will be trying to justify beastiality the same way they are homosexuality. Its already creeping in on the fringes. And at the core its the same delusion.

In that case I feel bad for the Apostles and Prophets. If the information comes I expect it to come direct to me just like most of the information I get. Waiting on the Prophets and Apostles means I'm restricted only to information the entire world can safely receive. Kinda crippling.
