I sincerely doubt that, if anyone ever told your bishop anything, that it would be GIMR who did it. Tattling is just not her style. I'm not understanding why he'd get mad though, or who he'd be mad at.

People are pointless all the time, especially fear-driven folks like Mormons who think the Honor Code is normal. I mean really... tattling is part of our culture, written into our policies. We have a moral obligation to tattle on anyone we see that offends our puritan moral code. I can see how rcrocket would think someone might talk to his bishop (although I doubt he really thinks that, since he's obviously in the heirarchy of his ward and stake), with his experiences at BYU and J Reuban Clark (isn't that where he got his law degree?). Reporting Honor Code-type violations is a regular part of life, in his experience. A female friend of mine was reported to her bishop for having lunch with a male friend. Nevermind that they were work colleagues. Was this anyone's business? No, but that didn't stop someone from running to the bishop and reporting her.
I've been threatened with someone reporting what I say on the boards many times to my bishop and my SP. It's what people do when they're backed into a corner and have no argument against what I"m saying. Kinda like "I'm telling the teacher!" back in grade school.

What I don't understand is that Bob is claiming that someone on this board has threatened to "rat him out" to both his law firm and the Stake President.
Frankly, this seems like more of a TBM move than a move anyone here would attempt. First of all, why would his firm care one way or another what he was doing on his own time? And it's certainly not anything scandalous. He posts on a religious-themed message board. So what? It's a private practice, right? As long as he is doing his job well, it seems to me that the person doing the reporting would look more crazy in the eyes of his firm partners than he would.
