Why not?

I believe Christ said that loving thy neighbor (along with honoring God) were the two most important commandments. Notice he didn't say love thy straight neighbor, but love thy neighbor...irregardless.

And it's not like Christ set the best example for how to live purely hetero lifestyle (considering he wasn't married and he hung around with a bunch of other guys).



"What's love got to do, got to do with it?" Good song, and apropos. The behavior is forbidden by the Lord, as is other sexual behavior outside his laws regarding sexual expression between his children. Please don't take the tired, old, worn out treadmill and say that because we oppose homosexual conduct we hate homosexuals.

Your second comment has some serious problems in that we don't know anything regarding Jesus' marital status in mortality, and the fact that all the Apostles were male implies precisely what to your mind?

Please supply Biblical evidence that homosexual behavior is forbidden by the Lord.

(Just as a side note, I would like to mention that my challenges do not imply that I have taken any particular position on the issue of homosexual activity. I'm simply debating here, folks, so let's don't jump to conclusions either way.)

Leviticus 20:13
13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Ya know, the only one of those that actually mentioned homosexuality was Leviticus. The rest mention fornication and a few other things, but they don't say anything specificaly about homosexuality.

And on THAT NOTE....

Who cares? Seriously, what the hell is with the cherry picking of the laws set down in Leviticus? What about all the other acts punsihable by death listed in Leviticus? Going to go stone your neighbor for working on a sunday next?

Little clue for you guys... If you're going to apply one law, then apply them all or don't apply any of them.

If I am not mistaken, this is taken from Levitical Law. If you accept Leviticus 20:13 as Law, you also have to accept the following:

1. Only marriages betweeen men and VIRGINS are acceptable.
(21:13)

2. Men cannot marry widows or divorced women.
(21:14)

3. Men can only wear ONE hairstyle.
(19:26&27)

4. Tattoos are sin.
(19:28)

5. Fornication is okay between a male slave owner and his
female slave. Not condoned, but you can get by with it!
(19:20)

6. Women with their periods must sleep and live alone and be
separated since they are unclean.
(15:19-33)

7. If you have any blemish whatsoever (if you're blind, if
you're deformed,if you're handicapped. if you're small, if you are sick) you
cannot worship or take sacrament in the temple.
