I received some well deserved criticism on this one for altering the lyrics in a way such that it didn't match the structure of the original song as well as it could have. In light of this, I've altered the words to make it a better match, and hence, all that more enjoyable. The only real problem, as to matching these lyrics with the original, are a few verses which were a little difficult to make work when trying to sing it through to the original song. This has been corrected, and, in point of fact, now actually reflects the subject matter more accurately. This should work a little better.
Mr. Scratch Our Man
There's a man who lives a life of slander
The clear unvarnished truth will raise his dander
Oh, With every name he calls
Through guile and fear he crawls
The odds are he'll move farther Left tomorrow
Mr. Scratch our man
Mr. Scratch our man
He's laying it on so thick
Grab a shovel while you can
Beware of aging hippies that you find
A silken tongue can hide a left wing mind
Oh be careful what you say
Unless your Black or Gay
The odds are you'll be told your Gomer Pyle
Mr. Scratch our man
Mr. Scratch our man
He's laying it on so thick
Grab a shovel while you can
Swinging with Calypso Louie one day
And then marching at a Gay Pride rally next day
Oh Don't know what world he's in
Hey! was that D. Michael Quinn
The odds are he'll move farther Left tomorrow
Mr. Scratch our man
Mr. Scratch our man
He's laying it on so thick
So grab a shovel while you can
