Why should faithful Saints ever post here?
rcrocket
Because it's real, with real people, and real emotions, and real experiences, and as many sides of the story as there are posters? Because it's full of sinners and Saints and people who accept me as I am even though I'm quite often off the mark? Because we can take off the masks that we all wear everyday here, and people still accept us? Because we have friends here?

Well, then I guess my bishop is wrong. And since he's my judge in Zion, he's the one who has the interpretation I'll follow. And until the church has a little better definition of what an apostate is, you're just going to have to continue to faunch at the bit.
I mean, having read what I've posted, do you continue to believe that your posts on this board are neither "publications" nor made to the "public?"

I have learned that members who are found to be teaching anything doctrinal about plural marriage will be excommunicated.
In my FIL's ward a man was recently disciplined for teaching about polygamy/132 in Sunday School. If this is true and the bretheren do not want members discussing the doctrine or history of plural marriage then the apologists on MAD are all in trouble. The posters like Charity, Calmoriah, Nighthawke, and the overwhelming number of TBM men have published and made public their beliefs that plural marriage is wonderful, Godly, etc. and will be a part of the CK. There are several who have stated that it will be required for exaltation and return at the Savior's second coming.

No one will ever censor me, rcrocket, certainly not you and definitely not the Brethren. This board and others like it are not publications in the sense of a book or magazine or a public speech, which is how the Brethren have always interpreted "public" and "publication." I don't care how the Supreme Court interprets it; what matters is how my bishop interprets it.
Now if I ever present a paper at an anti-Mormon symposium, you can complain. Until then, you have no voice.

I don't think it is in any meaningful way. I doubt the Brethren are browsing it or giving it a second thought when policies are decided and talks are written. I don't think the SCMC is actively using this or MAD either. Surely there would have been at least one disciplinary council if they were. We don't hear of it and I suspect that if anyone on here faced a council where evidence from this (or any other) message board was used they would have reported it online.
Reports indicate that there *have* been disciplinary councils---or other forms of discipline---which have been related to online activity. I have seen this stuff brought up on RfM before, particularly related to BYU, which, I guess, monitors its students' emails and so forth (or something like that). Also, unless I'm mistaken, one of the regulars on thefoyer (Hellmut, perhaps) was hauled into a Church court for stuff he'd written online.

I hope not.....being thought cute in the cuddly-sense would be a serious blow to my ego.

Dang, hope they come visit. I tried RFM once, hated it.

Er, that was in response to crocket (and his strange revelation that he thinks my posts are cute. I suspect he means my avatars, but who am I to questions the non-anon?).
