Archive Assault I

Post by _grayskull »

It's not a video game, it's a hypothetical question. And there is a part 2 and 3 coming. This is purely hypothetical.

Suppose an underground group of militant Antis were to pull off a perfectly ochestrated attack on the Church archives. They break in using force and steal every document kept there without causing bodily harm to anyone. Within a few weeks, they break in again, and return every document along with a stack of money to cover any physical repairs to the facility needed. Slowly but surely, they begin distributing copies of these documents on the internet. How many of you would read/publish commentary on the documents? How many of you would be happy for this to happen?

So, would they bore a hole in the mountain, drill through titanium plating, dodge the lasers, swim the mote, avoid the cameras and alarms, stay aloof of the scorpions and not breath the poison gas? Could they also look rather like Angelina Jolie?

I admit I'm curious about what's in the archives. However, if it is obtained illicitly, I would be less likely to trust what was published as the provenance of such would be problematic.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy.

What is it exactly that you think is being hidden?

I can't say I'd pick any of the choices. I'd have to think that anything that was stolen from the archives and published would be suspect - there's no verification of authenticity, and many motives to alter the documents. Even potentially damaging documents would not be able to be taken at face value.

I voted to approve of the raid. Why? Because a raid against Tony Soprano to give to orphans would be less justified.

Journals Gaz, if they aren't already burned.

I chose not to vote. Why would an organization keep supposedly damning evidence?

It’s the President’s vault they should hit. According to some, that’s where all the good secrets are.
