John 5: 19, 30
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise

Gizzard, I'd say that image portrays you more than it does me.

The acorn is Mormon doctrine, bouncing here and there, and just when you think you have your claws on it, it moves again... and Gizzie runs after it....

How does that support the concept that God the Father had a father? I'm not seeing it, Gaz.

The Son had a father. So what. I believe that. Does the LDS church teach as doctrine that God the Father had a father.

What did Jesus do? He came to earth, took on mortal flesh, proved himself worthy of higher honors. He laid down his life and received a resurrected body. As his Father had done. Joseph taught this in the King Follet discource. Did he declare it as a certain doctrine? No. But he said "I know it is good reasoning".

Where did Gods begin? It is unknown, but the pattern is laid out before us very plainly. Did our Father in Heaven have a Father? I would say yes. But did the Grandfather have a father? That I don't know.

So what. According to the story, Jesus knew exactly what he had to do and did it, so big whoop. Like a endurance race. According to the story, he knew full well what he would go through and what he would get. He did not lay down his life, he just let em tack up his tabernacle of clay on the cross.

IF you are looking for something above and beyond in that story, look at the Satan dude.. He made a pretty good showing for his beliefs and is still kickin.

Why waste your life dwelling on this fairy tale of Jesus, Satan, and their deadbeat dad?

Do all LDS agree with you here that God the Father had a father? The Lord's church is a church of order, you know.

Documentation for that last part, please. I'd like to see that quote in the context in which it was first delivered.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
1 Peter 2:9

Believers in Jesus are priests. They have no need for a supposed restoration to give them this authority.

38John said to Him, "Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us."
39But Jesus said, "Do not hinder him, for there is no one who will perform a miracle in My name, and be able soon afterward to speak evil of Me.
40"For he who is not against us is for us.

Mark 9

Note that it was not necessary to follow the disciples but rather the One in whom the deeds were done.

24but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently.
25Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Heb 7

We depend on the priesthood of Jesus, which is permanent, not the priesthood of men.

27And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,
28so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.

Heb 9

One of the purposes of the Old Testament priests was to offer animal sacrifices. I thought that the LDS believed in a restoration of all things. This obviously does not need to be restored since Christ's sacrifice eliminates the need for animal sacrifices.

Nice proof texts which does nothing other then to show you interpret them differently then LDS or Catholics do.
