Hi Selah...

I personally think it is up to individuals to decide what sorts of undergarments they find appropriate.

I'm just sort of curious about your thoughts though... you write,

I believe you can keep those covenants - and for me, part of those covenants include my garments. I still hold the temple in high regards, and I still believe firmly I made covenants with my Heavenly Father there seperate of any particular church body. So therefor, I am still bond by those covenants and the symbol by which I am outwardly expressing those covenants is still the same - my garments. The other things the garments represent - are still nice things to remember, ponder, and return to scriptures about.

As a non-believer do you still fee you should pay tithing to the LDS church? Or consecrate/give all your time, talents and resources to the building up of the church of JCoLDS? Etc. etc.? Do you believe Joseph Smith was a prophet and the garments are what God instructed humans to wear? If not why not pick your own symbol of your personal covenant/promise to God?

I'm not sure where you are coming from on this?

No I don't believe any of those things. However, I do believe that I should give my time to the building up of God's kingdom, making eternal impacts and ripples for God whenever I can (kindness, service, love). I've thought of the covenants and simply applied them to specifically God or generally Christianity.

Now see? That's what I think should be taught in the temple. That we consecrate our time, talents, etc. to the building up of the Kingdom of God. We don't. We should.

Hi Harmony...

Yep!

Actually, when I was still trying to embrace the church, I tried to expand various ideas to fit with my own personal "truths" and thought that if they changed the wording in the temple to... "building up the kingdom of God," or something along those lines, then I would be ok with it, but I just could not agree to give everything I had and everything I will have to building up the church.
