That was presented as having as dire a consequence as if one had willingly had sex (in other words, you were "ruined.")
I'm just talking about the way things were presented to me by various Sunday School, Primary, MIA, and Seminary teachers, and Bishops. You can read reference to this in my "so-called exit story" that I post in my MD blog.

Okay, one facetious confession deserves another. I confess that the reason I have stayed in the Church is because I am a mind-controlled morgbot that won't think for himself and I can't handle the truth. In other words, I have thoughtlessly denied myself the virtues and adult necessities of drinking coffee and alcohol and breaking the Sabbath day. ;-)

If anyone taught that to you, they have alot of repenting to do.

IF????? IF????? Whadaya mean by IF?
You can be sure Blixa was taught that. I was taught that. We were all taught that. Fight to the death rather than lose your virtue. Nobody has any repenting to do, that's just the way it was. Mormons teaching according to the light and knowledge they had been given.

You didn't get the invite did you, tsk tsk.
Johnny Exmo, Part 1:
I visited the crossroads outside of town and sold my sould to Mr Scratch for the ability to lie convincingly. I had established power now, I was pure evil. (makes motion where his arms are spread eagle, theres a crow and hes saying something like "Hahaha! puny mortals, Lucifer controls EVERYTHING!!!!")
So Johnny Exmo admits it. I did it because I wanted to sin. And why? Because I know its true and just want to futz with you Mormons, the people who I really resent and the people who are really running the show (see Mormon legitimacy claims of mitt, harry and that other douche bag hatch).
Ya see, theres a great work and a glory waiting for Mormons and I'm ready to tap this resource. Because in the end my wailing and gnashing of teeth is a warning cry to you TBM rubes.
And crawling on the planet's face

Lost in time
And lost in space...and meaning

I think Gaz would do well to reconsider calling a prophet to repentance. Even I remember that widespread teaching of President Kimball's from my youth.

"It would be better for your son or daughter to come home in a pinewood box than to lose their virtue"
At least since the 1940's. Stigma and lost temporal virtue cannot be trumped by repentance or even the victim with an innocent and tender heart.
Someone will dig it up, Gaz (But you can push that through the hole in the floor too).
The members that said this really offended me.
