(not with other men) The women or woman would pour oil over the entire body in a tub. I don't have the book anymore to verify the exact details, but wanted to point out that the washings/annointings have significantly changed over the years. So this part of the movie may not be that off. Could you describe in more detail what was shown without revealing anything that could violate covenants?
Seven, what you describe from "Wife #19" is what was depicted--He was in a large wooden tub and we saw a horn with oil being poured on him. I think we can be certain they used her description to portray the event. My father has a copy of "Wife no. 19" so I'll check it out, but I suspect that since it is as you described, it's probaby exactly what she claimed was done--though I don't know how much we can trust her account. I think her book was pretty sensationalized so I'd take it with a grain of salt as far as accuracy goes.

I know her book is online as well. If I had more time I would sift through it to find the description. I am not sure how much of her book was exaggerated or sensationalized, but she was a devout Mormon before she left Brigham Young and her parents were close to Joseph Smith. (her father was in the inner circle of polygamy too)
What is interesting is that Ann Eliza Webb's negative views of the church are often discounted by apologists as "anti" and "sensationalized" but she is used by apologists in her accounts of other history when it suilts their agenda.
Wife No.19 is written in her words, and is her own story of events. Most of the book made Brigham Young look like a horrible dictator and was focused on him and the horrors of living polygamy. (which is to be expected from somebody who lived it and is finally free to be hoenst). I feel confident that much of her book is honestly as she remembers it, but mixed with her emotions and bitterness for Brigham Young. Nobody has a perfect memory so there are bound to be some inaccuracies , having told history from her own recollections.
Ann maintained a strong testimony of Christ and God throughout her life and I think she toured the country educating others on the dangers/evil of polygamy. I found her to be a very brave woman and respect her difficult choice to leave. Her parents shunned her for a time and of course losing the polygamist family she loved was very hard on her. Although she was an apostate, I never got the impression from her book that she believed Mormonism was a total fraud. She was however convinced that polygamy came from Satan and Brigham Young was a wicked man.

WTF is going on with the release date of September Dawn?
I went to the movie website and it now says the truth will be revealed on the 24th of August. First it was May 5th, then later June, now August?
I have a group of never mo friends at work that want to see it... now the must wait until the end of August?
WAIT... perhaps they are wanting to release it closer to the 9/11 date? Oh yeah, that means more movie goers which will translate to more slammed doors in the faces of Mormon human spam on countless doorsteps across the nation!

I suspect the movie has been pushed back because they have not gotten good audience reviews. The poor kids taking comments Tuesday night were inundated with people wanting to give their two cents. Maybe they want to do a bit of tweaking....I think they'd be better off starting all over again.
