That would throw the existance of Little Ricky into question.

EPIC FAIL! "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy" is Groucho Marx quote.

I wonder...now that you mention it, I'd like to the provenance of this quip established. I've heard it attributed to Tom Waits and a quick look online turns up some wild attempts to connect it to Dorothy Parker...

I thought Marx, too. Perhaps I'll look around some more.

Or maybe just have another cup of coffee...

We're both wronf, Blixa. The earliest usage I can find with a cursory Google is from Fred Allen. Looks like I managed to self-epic fail there. But yeah, Allen predates Tom Waits use in 1978 by a couple of decades easilly (Allen died in the 1950's). I can't find a confirmation on it, but I did see a source that puts it as W.C. Fields having said it first.

Yeah the thing is attributed to everyone! It's such a good line that many have used it, but as for its genesis...still pending.

(Day at the Races? Dr. Hackenbush? That's my Marx guess)

I know I've heard if from Groucho Marx though... And it probably was Day at the Races, but it's been so long since I've seen it I can't be sure.

Hey Blixa:

Who is the lovely lady in your avatar?
