Well I don't want to mend fences. I didn't do anything wrong. The good Christians on that board that mock the descendents are the ones that should be soul searching.
Mr. Coffee, I don't think the people over there are stupid. I actually think it is one of the more intelligent boards I've ever been on.

Screw that....if I took as much crap as you Runtu my next post over there would include the words "me" and "blow" and not many more.
But see, if I did that, I couldn't play the "victim" card anymore. LOL
I've given back in the past, and I'm just determined I'm going to do things the way I believe I should and not respond in kind to attacks. Yeah, maybe I'm naïve, but I still think it's possible for exmos and believers to treat each other the way they should.

I think it would be good if ex-mos and LDS could get along. However they're over there mocking other Christian denominations right now, so I wouldn't hold your breath. You're probably pretty low in the pecking order.

If that's what you consider an 'intelligent board" then it doesn't say much about the quality of sites you've been frequenting. The rampant dishonesty of the admins, combined with general atmosphere of "discuss anything you want as long as you agree with us" tells me that MA&D is 1. a site I'd get banned from rather quickly, 2. not the sort of place I'd be likely to find discussions on topics I care about, and 3. would most likely result in me tacking IPs down to physical adresses and spending frequent flier miles to give people in-person wall-to-wall counciling.
This place I like as, even though I honestly couldn't care less about LDS or for/against appolgetics arguments on the same, there are topics discussed that interest me and when I choose to let someone have it for gross stupidity I'm not told "you need to be nice or we'll ban you". Instead I get a decient argument (most of the time), and other than being asked to tone down my language in certain areas of the site, the Admins never screw with me. But then, the admins around here from what I've noticed don't screw with anyone.
I'd bet money that if Julian & Co were to greow a pair and start posting here, they wouldn't find any apathy at an administrative level here. I'd also bet money that the same doesn't hold truth in reverse.
So yeah, MA&D is relegated to "Forums I occasionally browse to remind myself why I'm an atheist or for repost fodder on other sites so I can share the laughs" status.

Well, I appreciate the vote of confidence. I really had hoped to mend some fences over there. It's not going so well so far.
I thought religion, in this case Mormonism, was about building fences in order to keep some people out and others in. Why do you want to ruin it?
It is much better to have some broken fences so a few can escape.

I'd prefer a board with even-handed moderation to one with no moderation, but MDB will do in a pinch I suppose. I wonder if other people will find their way over here as well. Some more really solid LDS posters would help.
Actually, MormonDiscussions is a moderated forum.
It's just not a babysat forum.
Therein lies the difference.

Pseudo Dunamis: Take your atrocity tale over to your home board, Runtu.

Well the last board I was a member of was anti-social.com and that was 10 years ago. So maybe I'm not so net savvy.
I think most of the people that post there are well intentioned people. There are a few that are just awful. I've had one post scripture after my posts insinuating I'm of satan. I also don't like the way in which some like to lampoon other religions. I think it's just group mentality that runs amuck. Surely they can't really believe that they are being good, honest people when they disparage other good, honest people? But the same holds true for this board. Of course I don't really see anyone here claiming they have the claim to goodness and truth. I just don't understand how people that claim they live their lives to be more Christ like can act in the manner they do over there.
I guess I don't really belong at this board either. I do need to get a good book.

I think the worse thing for the Church would be for people like me (investigators) to stumble across that site. Seriously.
I would like to amend this statement. Sput is using "I think the worse thing for the Church would be for people like me (investigators) to stumble across that site. Seriously." that quote in his signature line.
I would like to amend worse to worst I think. Also I'd like to ask all investigators to please specifically check out sput's posts. He seems to be a very angry, hostile person. After noting what an angry man he is please rest assured that this is not indicative of the entire LDS community. Although I wonder why the LDS community would wish to be represented by such a person on a discussion board that is still linked to a website where investigators go.
I was going to look for something to put in my signature but sloshed through about 100 posts where he complained about this forum. Obsessed? Good grief.
Someone, anyone, reading this over at the other board, please help him.
On the very first post I made on that board I was warned to keep my step-son away. I agree with that advice. There is very little that is faith promoting over there. Too bad.
