Kids that come home early? How early? Out only for a day? An hour?

Couple missionaries counted as one or two? What if either one served when they were younger, do they get counted twice as a missionary?

Non proselyting missions?

Little known fact about this supposed first missionary, Samuel Smith, Joe's younger brother. Something to spring upon the unwitting 19 year old fools walking past the new erected statue of him at the Provo MTC..

He was vehemently opposed to Joe's polyg, which put him at odds with Brigham and his supporters of polygamy. Emma and the other opposition to polygamy wanted Samuel to take the reins of the church after Joe was killed.

This did not happen, because Samuel was POISONED before he could stand toe to toe with Briggie. Much speculation has been made that Young ordered the poisoning to keep as many of the members with him.

Just because you have been duped into believing that Flash Gordo is a twoo prawfit of god, then you WILL NOT question any of his press releases. You are not allowed to do so. Elder Dallin Oaks said so on PBS.

On occasions in the past, Hinckley has clearly demonstrated that he loves to stretch the statistics into a faith promoting flag which he then waves in the faces of the membership.

Do you remember his conference talk afew years back when he said the church membership was over 11 MILLION STRONG? What does his statement mean to you? That there were 11 million active members?

So when he stand up in Provo in front of a statue of the man who was killed for opposing polygamy and uses statistician speak like "reliably estimated", for me, someone able to examine him critically and objectively, it throws up a red flag.

All I am asking for is for him to do is simply qualify this count. Again, I fully understand why you would not even question ANY statement by him.

I don't know PP. 50,000 or more churning over every two years...seems like ti would be easy to hit a million or more missionaries.

I am not sure what this has to do with your thread but at least you not that this is speculation only.

But again, do the math. Over the past 30 years it would have been easy to hit a million missionaries.

No it is not blind trust. It is whether there is an issue worth questioning or not. This is not. The sheer numbers of FT missionaries over the past 30 years should make a million easy to hit.

When I get home (if I don't have better things to do), I'll crunch the numbers of my Almanac to see what tally I get... although it only goes up to 2005.
