Right on target! You said it exactly as I meant it in my previous posts.

If a person is a Mormon, that individual will believe that the prophet will never lead a person astray. However, a person is not conditioned to follow the prophet blindly. The questioning process needs to come into play. Usually, however, after questioning the revelation, a person can usually see the logic of the revelation.

I don't believe that MAD allows people to hook into their website from this website. At least I can't do it from my computer. Can you?

If you copy the URL into a new Internet window you can connect (assuming of course your IP is unblocked and you can access MAD normally----which by the way I can again! Thanks Juliann! *Dating game kiss*)

Negative. That's why I put the whole URL instead of just a little linky-dinky-doo-dah. You'll have to go about it the way the Amish do it (i.e. cut and paste).

Hey! John was talking about ME! John W., you're in BIG trouble! ;)

I see they've got it all figured out over there as to why people leave the Mormon church. ::rolls eyes::

I don't know any exmo that believed our Prophets were perfect or should be. Can you explain what you mean??? I often see this accusation, even by Chapel Mormons, but I never expected a sinless life or perfect Prophet.

I was raised to believe that the church is perfect but the members were not. Which means that the revelations and LDS doctrines that make up the Mormon gospel are supposed to be perfect. I never expected Joseph Smith to be a perfect man. I did however, expect that when Propehts speak for God to the LDS church, & reveal doctrines and ordinances, that it was from God himself. Their personal life, sins, etc. are not an issue for me but when they command sin in the name of God it is. When they make immoral policy or doctrines (even if we no longer teach them), that is a problem for me.

I don't see anything wrong with that either.

A recent example of black and white thinking:

Each of us has to face the matter—either the Church is true, or it is a fraud. There is no middle ground. It is the Church and kingdom of God, or it is nothing.

President Hinckley in his famous talk about Loyalty, Apr conference, 2003.

It doesn't get much more black and white than that.

Follow the prophet,
Follow the prophet,
Follow the prophet,
But question what he says

Follow the prophet,
Follow the prophet,
Follow the prophet,
But think about it first

Hmm. Doesn't have the same ring to it.
