So EVs do not believe in a flood or Adam and Eve at all? huh ya learn something new ever'livin day.
Nowhere in my comments did I indicate that "Ev's do not believe in a flood or Adam and Eve at all". You see, Porter, you continue to make comments that are not only irrelevant to what I've stated but are irrelevant to what you yourself asked me.
Some EV's believe in a literal interpretation, but not all do. For example, the book of Revelation cannot be taken as fully literal by any Christian for it is filled with metaphor, likewise the poetry and proverbs contained in the Bible.
Let's see how you mangle that now.

They believe all of the bull in that book, but dismiss the miracles found in the Book of Mormon and LDS history.
Remember it is spelled Bible, but pronounced buy-bull.
Okay. I know people like to use the term EV's and try to lump all the Protestant Churches together. There are EV Churches that do not believe in the inerrancy of the Bible. For instance Wesleyan tradition does not even see the Bible as being necessary for salvation... it is not inerrant and is useful in that it can be used to guide one closer to God.

Even more stereotypes. Can't blame a guy for grasping at those straws though. No, Porter, I'm not here to "witness" to LDS, I've never "witnessed" to LDS online or on the ground. You apparently knew me from ZLMB because you called for me in one of your first posts here and I answered you. Had you bothered to go back to the posts that you yourself crank out, you wouldn't have had to ask 6 months later who I am.
If you knew me on ZLMB, you'd know that I challenged all sorts of things including Mormon theology and EV theology. As a matter of fact, I think I spent more time challenging EV's than I did Mormons.

Thanks monkeys, for providing another "voice" and perspective.

On top of this is the act that Mormons do not take them seriously, as its jst a different interpretation fo a dangerous, violent and bigoted book.
Thank you EV's for keeping me in the church, even if it was five minutes longer than if I were to have not taken the skeptical escape route.
I think in general you are correct. EV critics do not take many out though they do some. I will confess that there was an EV critic who gave, after many year of debating issues with EVS. mostly being successful at it at least in my mind, who brought up an issue that I had never really encountered and that I found difficult. I spent a lot of time researching the issue and thought I had a good rebuttal. But as time went on I felt that my "apologetic" response was rather hollow and did to much dancing to make it work. That may have caused a domino effect and IO delved more into other issues I knew of but felt the apologetic answers had been good. They seemed less and less good.
So, an EV did get me thinking. However, as I explored Mormonism more with a critical eye I felt that I should so the same to Christianity. There were problems there as well. I determined that EVs were happy to critique others but not their own and if the EV critic did evaluate his own religion with the same methods he did the LDS Church he would reject his faith.
So, me, I just maintain that all religion boils down to faith and lack hard proofs. I believe and continue to because I want to and enjoy the part religion and faith play in my life.
