I like to think that I can bring a different perspective.
I am married to a Mormon, and I initially came here to try and get more information, see the interactions, etc.
Some of the theological discussions we have can be very interesting, and I have tried to share some of that here to see how others in the church think of them, and to get the "Mormon" perspective.
I actually go to sacrament meeting about twice a month, then leave to go to my church, while my spouse and son stay for the 2nd and 3rd hours. Sometimes, she leaves to come with me. He has been to my church once.
For the record, I worship at a Disciples of Christ church (
www.disciples.org), and am an elder there. I have been a member for 6 years. I grew up a Presbyterian, went to a Lutheran church in high school, and for a time was a Baptist.
If you ask some of the people in my church, they'll say a bring a different perspective there, too! :-)
The way I look at it, we're all just on a big journey, no one
really knows how it will all end, and we just try to do the best we can along the way.
I don't know if God exists; I like to think that He does, and somehow have a feeling of faith that He does, but I can't be sure. I do believe in Christ as my savior, though I readily admit I don't know if all the stories are true, or how it all fits together.
Something happened when he was here, whatever it all means.
I do believe that whatever God is, nothing that is written in any book, be it the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Koran, etc. can begin to describe His magnificence, His power, His greatness, or any other attribute. The natural by definition cannot describe the
supernatural.
