The church does not have a right to do

Yes they do. Current law does not require a tax exempt Church to disclose it financial statements to anybody.

as they are doing and can only do so because its a private equity company.

No they are not. This is rather dopey.

Your fantasy world where the church is exempt is spurred on by your religions grossly inflated sense of worth.

It is not fantasy like your idiotic comment about the Church being a private equity company. The Church is exempt, by law, from disclosing financials. Personally I think they should disclose but they do not have to.

But the information for their for profit activites are discloses to IRS at least.

They are in effect claiming that financial obfuscation is a part of their religion, something that is laughable and legally speaking is farcical.[/quote]

A pittance goes to operational costs

Really. And you know this how? You know how much the church spends to operate all its facilities just how? Stop your phony pontigicating.

while the multi generational wealth behind the Mormon church is divided up amongst the small, exclusive clubhouse of the Mormon elite.

Wow. For all this hoarding of wealth by the top dogs it is amazing we do not see them living so extravaganlty. More nonesensical lies from you. Yes lies. You claim things you cannot prove as if they are true and then you banter them around like you are some sort of authority yet you do not know and there is not any evidence to conclude you are accurate at all. Lies.

Its right in front of your face carcinogen boy, pluck it and gain freedom from the shakedown you get every sunday telling you that those who pay the "god tax" so teh church will protect you. Get control of your life, and if you are a convert then get control back.

More blah, blah, blah.

The Mormon corporation is about to lose its shirt in the mall

It is? How do you know this? Do you know the value of the property, it appreciation potential, the ROI the Church has on it, its cash flow? I don't and you don't. You could be right, you more likely are wrong. Don't pretend you really know.

and membership numbers are dwindling fast right about the time reliable information became highly available

While growth is not as rapid as it had been there is still overall net growth. You are telling another lie.

I don't know what the big deal is, couldn't they just write some number on a slip of paper and have some reasonably priced third-party like Sean Hannity whisper it to the judge?

You history buffs may recognize this solution as being akin to the one President Nixon had in requesting that only one old Senator of Nixon's choosing be allowed to listen to and verify the contents of the White House tapes.

I'd bet money (no pun intended) the Church settles rather than discloses. It always does. In fact, that's probably what the plaintiff's attorney intends.

But this brings up an interesting thought. The LDS Church ALWAYS broadcasts to the world anything it thinks makes it look good and hides EVERYTHING it thinks will hurt it. It has from the very beginning and there have never been any exceptions. So I personally have to think that the Church leaders think disclosure of its financial statements would hurt it. I'd like to know what's in the statements the leaders are afraid of.

Not sure I understand what you mean.

Even Jesus knew there was more to life than just helping the poor. He was perfectly fine with having money spent on ointment for Him before His crucifixion instead of on the poor.

I meant that you believe Christ is leading the church right? Christ is in control right? Yet you're worried that public perceptions might sway the leaders of the church to do something they wouldn't otherwise do - and that this would be harmful to the church (which might imply a lack of divine control over the church).
