I have yet to find a way that this truth is very useful.

The fact that poop smells bad is important. We know for example that it would be a bad idea to store fertilizer in one's closet or under ones bed.
Evolution built into us the perception of the odor as unpleasant for good reasons related to health and disease.

Occasionally during the past year I have been asked a question. Usually it comes as a curious, almost an idle, question about the qualifications to stand as a witness for Christ. The question they ask is, “Have you seen Him?”

That is a question that I have never asked of another.

I think he knows the answer.

I have not asked that question of my brethren in the Quorum, thinking that it would be so sacred and so personal that one would have to have some special inspiration,
indeed, some authorization, even to ask it.

What?

There are some things just too sacred to discuss.

How convenient. If no one asks then no one will have to tell the truth. There will be plausible deniability and the membership can go on imagining that, and spreading faith promoting rumors that, they have seen Jesus.

The more I think about this talk the more I dislike it. Obsufation? Yep? Even more so Elder Packer is disembling here. Come on. You are a SPECIAL WITNESS. In the Bible that meant you SAW Jesus or was with Him in His ministry. What did Joseph Smith say-I had a vision, I saw God, I knew and I knew God knew it and I could not deny it.

Jesus: Hey, look Boyd (or whatever his new name is so he knows it isn't the devil pos.. oop - faking), it's me Jesus.

Boyd: Wow. There you are. It's really you.

Jesus: Yep, that's what everybody says. Hey, don't tell anyone that you actually saw me. I don't want anyone to
know I'm actually the one with horns. They wouldn't understand.

Boyd: Your right, members are not the sharpest people, kinda like sheep.

Jesus: Just tell them our visit was too personal or sacred or something - that'll work.

Boyd: No prob.

Jesus: If you can keep it on the down low, I've got season passes to the Jazz for you.

Boyd: That's cool, but I'm already connected. How about washing my feet?

Jesus: Sure, if you don't mind 'em cleaned with a flame thrower.

(I've been in somewhat of a bad mood lately, if this is not celestial enough, I'll pull it)

I know someone who has seen what many wish they had seen. Among others, she has been ministred to by angels. She doesn't tell anyone because were she to proclaim what she has seen and experienced, she would be ex'ed from the church.

I have a friend who has had similar experiences. He prefers to keep them out of the limelight to avoid ridicule.

Why do you think she would be ex'd?

Yeah....what in the world would she be ex'd for? Maybe it's not permissable for anyone to be ministered to by angels except for the 12. And anyway, how do you know she's been ministered to by angels? Is it something YOU saw? Or is it just something she said to you, or you heard it from a friend of a friend. There are other ways to get faith promoting rhumors going but that one is a good one.

I know several people who claim to have seen Christ, angels, Satan, spirit guides, etc. etc.

They are not prophets, nor are they members of the church and they have no problem sharing their visions.

In fact, in most cases they believe it is important to do so.

I think this whole "lets give the impression we are meeting with Christ", stuff is nonsense.
