My father would have been all gung-ho. Then, he would have brought the discussion to the dinner table for the rest of us and my mother would give him a dirty look and then that would have been the end of any discussion.

I overheard my daughter talking to her friend on the phone. She said, "OMG, I'm so glad my Mom is in charge in my house." :D

When was the last time you bought a product from an unfriendly salesman? Don't be so stupid! They are TAUGHT to be overtly friendly.

Be glad you came to this board because the more I read from you the more I realize you were prime for being sucked into the cult. A "golden contact" is what they call people like you. Coming to this board has prevented that.

Yes. This has been tried before with limited success. My take is that if a family had children it is not a good idea. Especially teen children. The ideal sitution may be a single man for Elders or a couple that have no chidren in the home.

But when I read it and I read that this is one way members can fulfill missionary obligation I thought "here we go again with laying on the guilt." So far in my ward and stake we are not doing much. But I bet we will here more about it.
