Bye All
I've decided to leave these boards. I'm spending way too much time here and that my influence here is not significant.
I pulled up the Terrestrial Threads just now and in about half of them what I hold dear was mocked in the title with much more to come later on. Same in the other forums, just not as severely. I found no threads that began with anything positive about the Church. Those started by apologists were accusations against critics and a call for fewer insults.
I have also noticed more than once that when someone accuses this board of being biased in favor of critics a list of TBM's seems to come out that function well. Mine is on that list. The truth is that I often get angry at this board. So many are into childish sniping, nasty sarcasm, and glee at finding something even more horrible about Mormonism. C.S. Lewis described the activity of wishing grey was blacker to be the first step onto the road to becoming a demon. Eventually all grays become black and then white becomes black. I find myself doing the same thing to the critics on here, believing that any question they ask me is a trap and a snare until it becomes a combat. I need to get off this road. I've seen apologists on this and other boards become monsters defending truth. I'm becoming more coarse, more angry, and more interested in winning and less in becoming what I know I must become.
While I'm not saying I'll never come back, I don't know if I will. I'll watch this thread and a few others I'm in already for a bit longer but then I plan to fade into the night. Best of luck to you all. Bye.

I found/find your posts significant. I see you as a moderate and temperate Mormon, with some good ideas, and a sense of humour. But I fully understand how you feel. You, as far as I'm concerned, reflect why even temperate, tolerant Mormons can take only so much, and no more. Isn't that a marvel? That even balanced and tolerant Mormons like you and Jason can feel this way. I don't think there will be any real dialogue here until the anger and hatred against Mormons/Mormonism ceases. I've been flogging a dead horse for far too long.

Awwww, look lil' ol' Neh is taking his ball home!
The truth is a tough beast to beat.
Believe me, many here have tried.
At the end of your MDB career, we still have cold hard facts and you only have feelings.
Good luck on finding a molly Mormon wife. The older you get, the tougher it will be for you to fit in at the ward without the required eternal mate.
Remember Joseph Fielding Smith said other women of unworthy men will be given to other HUSBANDS. So if you show up with out a first wife, you ain't gettin any. Danny-God could use another palm leaf fanner...

How sweet! Look at the chief hypocrite comforting the younger hypocrite. Lets get Jason in here and they can have a circle jerk.Ray A wrote:The Nehor wrote:I've decided to leave these boards. I'm spending way too much time here and that my influence here is not significant.

Don't need to, she loves to wank it for me! I would be a fool to cheat on my sexy wife, as she gives me everything I desire, and in a damn hot bod!. Shades can attest to her hott'ness as we recently had the pleasure of meeting the good Doc.Ray A wrote:Polygamy Porter wrote:How sweet! Look at the chief hypocrite comforting the younger hypocrite. Perhaps the problem is how we view these boards. I probably don't start threads with anything positive about the church because if I think of positive things I'm saying them at home or at church. When I find controversy, I tend to bring it to boards because I do not think church is the appropriate place for it and family can only tolerate so much.
I'll miss you Nehor. You're probably the best of the TBMs here as unfortunatly there seems to be too much of a skeptic streak in me--at least according to some.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy.
